Train Heartnet, also known as "Black Cat," was an infamous assassin for a secret organization called Chronos...until he abandoned that cold-blooded existence to live on his own terms as an easygoing bounty hunter. But is Train's past as far behind him as he thinks?

black cat is AWESOME.
It's a Great action manga, it to a lot of usual an cliche thinks a makes great use of them
I just finished reading this, this manga the characters are well developed the art is also amazing
the plot and story is obvious but enjoyable at the same time you end up loving the characters :p (eve <3 !! )
It's just fun, and that's it
The better opinion i read is the one Haily post. That's the reality, Black Cat dowsn't give us too much of a new concept but tons of hellish fun. It's entertaiment, that's what this is. Cowboy Bebop + Trigun + Gungrave + Kenshin but softer in the emotional aproach to the characters.
Train origins are the same as Spike, but we actually get more explanations about his past, Chronos seems to be just like Red Dragon. The difference is: even though Vicious and Creed are just f. crazy, the last one is a complete gay in love with Train, and the Black Cat never likes Creed and Spike was friends with Vicious. Anyway the problem start with a women, yet i love Saya and hate Julia. Kenshin like? Where? He tries not to kill, but unlike Kenshin, Black Cat doesnt have any personality conflicts, his story is not as tragic, and he knows that if he needs to kill he will have to, unlike our beloved Kenshin who sacrifices himself not to kill. Trigun and Gungrave (i guess you know that these two series actually are from the same universe) oh well the Sharpshooting skills of Train are a lot like the main characters in these two series. Yet Train is more simple than the main characters in this titles, and nobody hates him for playing dumb. Train is a charming stupid guy, who is in fact a pretty tough guy trying to enjoy his new life.
Sven is a Bishie version a Jet Black, he was a cop, he lost a body part, he is strong and smart, and even a great sharpshooter. But! He is almost every time left out of the fun because of his reckless partner. Is he just like Jet or not? Though... the Foreseeing Eye and the Glaspar Eye really kick ass.
I wont go on, this will take an entire day... Rinslet = Faye, etc, etc... Or the situations... there are too many common places, yet i love Black cat
If you're looking for cool characters and great battles then this manga is highly recommended.
Reminds me of Kenshin (one of the best mangas I've ever read)
I really like this Manga. Just like Anonymous said, it is really addictive. Start reading and you won't be able to stop. But to be honest, I first started reading it and I thought: "The drawings are really good and I like the character design but something is missing." [edit by mod, please don't spoil] Many people I know say that it is bad because at the beginning it resembles the Kenshin manga; for example the main chara's non-killing attitude (and he can get really mad when fighting, still without killing) and the girl who died in his arms (just like Kenshin's wife); but I think it still is really good. A lot of shows resemble Kenshin, so what's your problem? You all watched/read Trigun, right??? Okay, anyway. Even though it's addictive and I love it I still think it's not perfect, so 9 Points :P (for being idealess at the character design and setting but good at drawings, character developement and story line)
I've only managed to read the first 3 volumes (couldn't bring my heart to read more >.<). What can I say, typical fightung-adventure manga with a horrible design of a gun. The protagonist is so typical, the food-loving happy-go-lucky who had this "scary eyes" when he gets angry. There's also a few scenes and characters that are copied from toher manga such as Hunter X Hunter (if you look carefully, you can see the resemblance).
Great in the beginning. Drags towards the end. Still good.
It starts off pretty dark but it lightens up a lot later on. Lot's of fighting, much of it over the top. A bit pushy with the morals at times and later it seems to be nothing but endless/pointless fighting. Still, it finishes quite nicely. If you like Trigun, Bleach or Dragonball, this should be a pretty enjoyable read.
I very cool story. I recommend for a great comedy/action story.
One of the better action-type manga out. Yeah, manga readers who've read a lot may be upset with some "reused" concepts from kenshin, etc, however it's definately worth a read. Better than everything creative so kindly listed as "better".
If you enjoy reading bleach manga and/or naruto you'll definately like Black Cat as well.
