I'm at chapter 14..and after that love confession..I get the urge to crie..

It's such a beautiful story, I've never experienced any story like this, it makes my heart feel the same pain. It sucks you in with it's ray of feelings.

I can say, it's one of the most beautiful stories I've ever read.

I've read it all :o beautiful story. (almost cried a few times more)

needs to be considered comedy as well XD its subtle humor but it made be burst out laughing. esp right in the first chapter where kei's friend comes. and his friend is like "amazing...kei's getting owned" XD

There was a lot of depth to this manga. The art was pretty good. As the reader gets closer to the end of the series things start getting a little boring.

That Was Worth My Time

This manga does a good job of depicting grief and sorrow, as well as the angst and trauma connected to these feelings. But it also shows a lot of love which doesn't get drowned by the darker emotions. That makes the book somewhat vibrant and gives it an edge above many others of the kind.
The art is fairly good, not perfect (that's why it get's a -0.5) and the heroine is drawn really cute, often fairly mature. It's a beautiful read both in text and picture.
I really enjoyed the heroine's personality, it spoke of a person who tries her best to be somebody you can enjoy living with, but the author didn't decide to just ignore her past and turn her into a shallow plot device. The same is the case with all main characters in this book, they all have meaning to the story and they don't feel like 2D cut-outs.
I would have really enjoyed a longer story though, another volume a few years down the line or something.

I've been putting off reading this because I was worried about it being super dark (and the main couple not ending up together). I mean I do like dark manga, but I don't know. But I dont regret it.

I'm glad I read it at this point in my life, when I'm more mature and had longer to live. Various things happened in my life that left me feeling like Kei, so I really related to his own personal darkness. Hell, I'm even a writer too. I think the biggest thing I got from this is that I want to be able to write something that so perfectly conveys the darkness inside of me. Something that other people will read and feel the same utterly entrenching sorrow I do.

I also believe that this manga ia brilliant and breathtaking ( despite the shakey art). I dare anyone who feels some semblance of darkness to read it. It really is a beautiful and bittersweet piece of art.

This was so pure and beautiful. I thought the love between the two was so innocent to the point I wanted to wring my hands haha But the darkness was so beautiful, the way they clung to each other. I thought the story was very endearing. It wasn't as dark as I was expecting it to be, which I guess is a good thing. But The the dark moments were simplistically beautiful.

Honestly speaking, I absolutely love this manga! I would not care of whatever things the other users are saying regarding this manga, but one thing is clear for me, I absolutely love this manga. It would be a first for myself to read such a dark themed manga till the very end. It wasn't difficult for me to finish it, though there were moments where my precious tears flow down like those of a waterfall and filled buckets to the brim. However, there is one thing that I has been bothering me ever since the Mangaka unravels Kei's past... Why are there many sadistic characters? Maybe it was just my view on the reactions displayed by the other characters but everybody seems to be so indulged in being swallowed by darkness and pain. They refer these elements as 'beautiful' and such that I had to try so HARD to understand what is so very attractive about being depressed. But putting all of that aside, this manga was refreshing for me as I am not one who would often read dark themed mangas. I was absorbed and I actually felt pure bliss and relief after the last bonus chapter. Way to go, Saito Ken-san!

I read the description (but not any of the comments) and was expecting it to be like Faster than a Kiss; similarly light-hearted, airy, and taking an extra-ordinary long time for the main characters to get together. Having read it, if I was forced to pick another manga it was like, I'd probably say the darker parts of Mars were akin to it.
To be honest, I didn't really understand this manga. For example
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Kei's determination to live only as a punishment, to continuously ruin the happiness he could have only to claw it back and then hate himself for this is not expressed exactly. It is explained obliquely and I still don't feel like I really understand it all. I guess you could say that it's because he feels responsible for his mother's suicide/death but I feel like that doesn't explain the whole Iori thing.

I think a more mature reader will appreciate it to a fuller extent. It leaves a kind of nostalgic, bitter-sweet aftertaste. I'm glad that all four volumes have been scanslated, without the ending it's, well, not exactly depressing, but heavy. Don't read this expecting a light shoujo.

I read the first chapters like 1 year ago and thought it was the typical manga where the main girl get rejected and played around by the main guy. I always thought of picking it up and finally i did it, and i so regret that i didn't read it before. And this manga is awesome, the characters are really realistic, and one can see how they grow up in the story and teach us life lessons. The romance is really sweet and i like how the main guy wasn't a typical perfect guy..If you think you are mature enough to let aside the typical shoujo themes or want to read a realistic manga that makes you think, then you have read this awesome manga. You won't get bored!! The manga maybe it's a little dark but the main girl and the other characters give every chapter a positive view of point of don't giving up and to not make the same mistakes, moving on and to care about others. The most important thing in this manga, i think, it's that it's really easy to judge instead of undertanding a person and that a real love is one that supports you in good and bad times ^^

I've only read a couple of chapters, and I've decided to give it a whole volume to entice me, but so far it's very.... dull?
I don't quite understand why I don't particularly care about the main two of this shoujo, when I am usually such a victim for cutesy live-in-lovers. There seems a substance lacking to their relationship, and it develops too slowly. She finds out his feelings and six months later... nothing? Seriously girl.
