this manga is good better than i expected. From the beginning, i thought it was jus gonna be another love story with a bit useless drama on the way. But it goes a bit deeper. With the end, The ending was beautiful.

Shame it's only a volume, but with that one volume, I deeply enjoyed the story and reread it on my spare time. What made me really like this story was the interaction with the doll and his master (as the doll first calls him). The doll goes through some emotions that he never experienced before and it was enjoyable to see his reactions and his discovery to them.

I agree with pleochroic, I don't see what's so amazing about this manga.
Sure it was cute and all, but that's it. Cute with lots of smut, like many others Yaois out there. I enjoyed the fantasy element in it, of how a doll turns into a human and comes to love his master, but i find that their love was pretty groundless.

because i don't see what's so great here. i actually agree that this is one of mishima's better works; her art has become somewhat decent (though i still hate her eyes; they always look angry), but it only stands out among her own works, not overall. maybe i've read too much good realistic BL lately, but this simply didn't touch me. the premise wasn't bad; i actually enjoy "doll turns human" stories. but shimeji was annoying as hell, shin is pretty much devoid of any personality, and there was little character development. there is also no mechanism to make the plot work, which isn't uncommon for japanese fantasy, but it always bothers me. and the end seemed rushed; we only get told that years have passed, we see nothing of whether shin ever felt despair (who wouldn't?). oh, and that joke shin pulled at the end was idiotic and hurtful and made me dislike him.
