Hate the heroine

I HATE THE HEROINE!!!

although the plot kinda typical for romance manga, but it is very realistic compared to Inuyasha. I love the humor in this manga, it is very refreshing. but what dissappoints me the most is the heroine personality. being indecisive is one thing, but what with the jealousy. its very irritating to watch her tossed Godai aside without listening to him...

This manga was my first Love, I was 15 when I first read it. Looking back, it was a sweet and touching memory that I would never forget.

Though a bit outdated, this series shines with it's subtle comedy and romance. Well worth the read.

The fact that I've already read it three times! Maison Ikkoku is the finest romance manga ever. I love everything, from character design, plot and a happy ending. All characters are normal persons, and their life is just like our real life. If you love it, must see the anime. Nice animation, excellent soundtracks (very very good), completed like manga and have a great Noel eve (the 3rd Noel in the manga, but another story, very very very romantic) and a new first date of Godai and Kyoko. This along with InuYasha and Kenshin are my three best anime.

At first, I was turned off by the very old art work. Also, the scans I read, as would any English copy, were left to right, so that confused me for the first volume every time I picked it up; however, despite the art work at the beginning being... questionable, I found the story to be quite hilarious and romantic. It develops into a very interesting and character driven plot, with much emotion involved. At times, I felt tears swelling up. This is just one of those reads that gives you a great laugh, and the romance is quite heartfelt as well. It's amazing how much the art improves from the first volume to the last. When I went back to compare after finishing, I was surprised it was still the same work.
I'd recommend this very much =)

very nice smile i enjoyed this very much!!! i mean with all the pairs finally fixed and i still think that Kozue and Nikaido shoulda hooked up smile but it turns out all well. I loved this and everyone should read this!!

i think TAKAHASHI Rumiko has really good stories smile like Ranma1/2 and Inuyasha but i like this one for its romance most cause Ranma 1/2 didnt actually have as much romance but still lots.

YAY!!!!! MUST READ O_O

GOOD MANGA

[edit by mod, Warning : possible spoilers]
I am torn between hating and loving this manga..

i could rant about a lot of things that i didnt like, like the typical characterization of the main lead. an unreliable and indecisive type of guy, uncool but has his own following of girls..well i could like like him since its the usual type and cheer for him but his competition is practically better than him in everything and that pisses me off. also the female lead is indecisive and torn between the two, so easily persuaded to change her mind. so if you really analyze it, if the feeling is just the same for the two guys then the answer should be obvious..for me i wasnt convinced enough..also the ending is too perfect, it almost became a shounen/shoujo type where all ends well..a bit unrealistic and anticlimatic(after the other guy left the picture)..and also a bit hanging..

on the other hand this manga made me addicted to it and i was sad to see it end..i was even dupe into thinking i could read it for 15 volumes when it only has 9volumes, the other 6 were just the repeatition of the last volumes.. also the ending is good, still likable and moving..and a bit sad, with the characters living their own lives and parting from each other, kind of reminded me of "Friends" the TV series..

i'll really miss this manga..maybe i should try the anime, with its alternate ending and how did it go..

Both the manga and the anime adaptation are great. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and much that appears in this series has since become clichés repeated in newer serials.

Maison Ikkoku and Kimagure Orange Road are mandatory reads for anyone who's interested in romantic comedy manga.ll maintaining plenty of the goofy comedy that characterizes all of her ma This is my favorite work by Takahashi, mainly because the story actually goes somewhere (unlike for her other series), while stinga. Unlike mangum44, i do think the art style is dated, but that shouldn't stop anyone from enjoying this manga.
