No redeeming qualities at all
by hkubra

This manga is not a good one, not because it contains cliches but because even the cliches are not implemented in a quality manner. And no, the fact that it is shoujo does not justify its shallowness and appalling portrayal of women.

And no, I don't think even its art can redeem its lack of content and plot, because compared to the rest of the mainstream shoujo, it's art is not amazing either. Yes, it is pretty but then so are the most other mainstream shoujo...

And yes, while I understand that tastes differ from person to person, I truly do not understand how this work can have such a high rating. I would understand a 6 or 7 as I know many would find it readable at least, but really... I mean... really?!

Awesome. It left me a deep impression. It'll be a different story if it ended in ch57, yet ch58 made it so memorable to the readers. I find myself laugh most of the time though. So glad there's a bonus chapter that shows they were so happy biggrin biggrin
I love the way Oto Hisamu delivered the characters and the story. The most beautiful ending ^^

Unsure about the ending

I really liked this story, although the artwork itself was quite inconsistent. The thing that really bugged me was the ending though. I'm not sure if I'm satisfied with it or not. Sure, it's original when compared to typical shoujo endings but at the same time... damn. A part of me didn't want things to go that way. Oh well. It was a 7/10 overall for me.

This manga is really complicated, sometimes it made me laugh, at the other i was like "WTF? No one ever will be doing something like this, this manga is stupid >_<", at some places artwork is great, at some other it's terrible as hell. But the ending was really great, not my type but really brought HtA on higher level in my eyes.
If you want something silly, light with some-sort-of-a-plot but with great ending and some beutifull scenes - this manga is for you. 7\10 (5 if not for the ending and rare gorgeous scenes)

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
I was skiping some chapters (because they were boring) but damn, i was so sure that he'll turn her into some kind of immortal, so after one of the most beautiful kiss scenes that i saw, the ending revealed - and single manly tear run down my cheek.

I think someone had to say it. I just thought it was better if it was me. Its a 9/10 for shoujo manga. >_< but seriously, I think its messed up. No daughter hopes to be banged by her father (or so I pray). The only thing I liked about this manga was the ending, what the author did took guts, especially since its a shoujo manga.

Okay. Enough with the Negative Comments.

All in all. This manga is sweet. Yeah. SWEET, though it have demons in it. It is just Sweet.

The art is cute. Just like some other demon-related manga, the demons here are super hot.

The characters are alright. I mean, they act like what they should act. I mean, a demon must be brute and a 14 year old kid must be dense to love. That's just all there is. smile

The story was just beautiful. It made me laugh, cry, frustrate. I experienced all the different mood in one day coz of this. And.. WOW. The ending was just perfect. Bow.

All in all, this manga is truly a-must read. I recommend it to every Shoujo Manga Readers out there!

Can't believe someone called this generic...

...because it's the exact opposite.
Noone wants this manga to be realistic.
Noone wants this manga to be complex.
Just because it is fine as it is.
It is a sweet tale with charming characters, nothing more nothing less. The drama and tragedy is beautifully put and makes you pity the characters and hoping for a turn for the better. The symbol of the flower was another exceptional idea.
I'll say this only once: if you think you aren't able to symathize with characters and don't want to be charmed by sweetness and innocence, then get out of here!
This manga is reserved for people with a heart!

it's simple but it's as pretty, vivid and colorful as a flowerbed: 9.5/10

Why 8.7 people? While this series is so so so so so... typical! sad((

Oh well, I guess after a long time of reading complex manga, I come back to these typical ones just for amusement and easiness because of their "awww cute" and easily-ridiculous unrealities LOL

Too naive and irritating.

I only gave this manga a 6 because of the art. Otherwise, I'd give it a 2.
The story starts off quite okay but as I read it all the way to volume 6, I got irritated. The main female character is overly childish like and she's way too naive. There's a limit to how much a person can be naive you know! And then, I got irritated with the unnecessary gags as well. It's funny yes, but dealing with them every chapter makes the manga boring. Does the mangaka expect me to laugh every chapter? I give the mangaka credits for their art though. The storyline isn't very great either. Every chapter, there's a demon from the demon world to get the male character back, and it's usually either he got kidnapped or the female character got kidnapped. I didn't quite like it and couldn't wait to ditch it so that I can read Basara instead. For those who likes to read light hearted manga with silly gags every chapter and doesn't mind a childish, naive female character...this is for you I guess.

I really enjoyed this series. I even put up with sleeping late in a school day just to finish this. It was worth it. the story, the art, the characters, everything was perfect. Yes, undeniably, it contained a lot of cliches, like tons of it, but it didn't destroy the story all together. Yes, it had a weak female lead, but we have to remember that it's SHOUJO. Shoujo has weak cry baby leads most of the time. But other than that, I liked it a lot. the art was awesome. The plot is sweet and tragic but you'll find yourself laughing most of the time. My heart ached while reading this. It'a very good thing to read, I regret not reading it sooner. So, everyone read it now and enjoy the sweet story!
