My first shoujo

this was my first shoujo years back and I was hesitant to read it again but once I started i couldn't stop and ended up reading all of it in one sitting it will always be one of my favorites and in another 1-2 years I look forward to reading it a again. it introduced me to shoujo and now i am obsessed unfortunately I hold all other shoujo to this standard so I stick with very few. the blessing and curse of koukou debut is that you'll fall in love with shoujo but rarely be satisfied with any other.

I had doubts when I first researched about the manga. My only reason for reading this was out of boredom. I was a bit unsettled because of the plot. I mean why is she so crazy to find love? I don't like girls chasing after guys so I was really hesitant to read this. However, I loved every chapter of it. Haruna is one of those heart-warming heroines. The love between her and Yoh is solid. Nothing can break them apart. Yoh's personality is also something to look forward to. All in all, you MUST read this one. Don't judge it until you've read it. wink

I was a little worried that a re-read years after starting the series, would not bring the same feeling i experienced then. Shouldn't have been worried, because either though this is a shoujo story, it's more slice of life. Also the romance was solid throughout, even when there were misunderstandings, it was not dragged out.

This was the first manga that i read and i think it was a good one to start with. This manga started my obsession with manga: it ruined my life biggrin It is SO funny. Pluss the characters were lovable. Yoh is so cool and is actually nice after the first few chapters. Haruna is so nieve and sometimes just plain dumb that she makes me laugh. I really like their friends too. This is a fun and light read, deffinatly a must read if you just want a good laugh.

Everyone was crazy. Like, their perceptions of reality were warped and no one seemed to notice. Most of them need professional help. That Asami girl has some major issues, as does the main guy.

I couldn't get into it because I was so unnerved by it. And no one really caught my interest.

I did love how they drew the main guy with sort of bags under his eyes. For ONCE the guy didn't look perfect and I loved it! Now if we can only get a main girl like that...

It's not bad. It wasn't my thing is all. I didn't feel any character chemistry at all.

Awesome. Fantastic! BEAUTIFUL!
XD fancy words.
Anyway:
It's amazing! The main lead is FRICKING AWESOME. She's strong, and there's no way anyone could get tired reading about her. C: I've just re-read the series for a 3rd time. I also love how this series is focused on the couples love, and not just the normal "oh-this-serie-ends-once-they're-together" kind of thing. C: It's just so awesome!

I CAN EXPLAIN IT WITH WORDSSS.
You just have to read it, because there's no way you could dislike it. :]

ACK! I had to add:

ITS HILARIOUS. My parents were giving me weird looks when I was cracking up by myself on the computer. smile It's overall one of my favorite reads, and it made me so happy reading it *u*!

*GREAT ART
*FANTASTIC CHARACTERS (THEY MAKE ME LAUGH SO MUCH XD and cry too..((in good way)) )
* AWESOME PLOT LINE (it is funny, touching, and so...YAY! )
*SKDJFLSDJF JUST READ IT.

SO READ. :]

First of all, the story is really unique as you can see in the description but i never thought it would be that good! As the story progresses, you really start to become attached to both characters as well as the plot. It wasn't cliche at all (well cuz of Yoh) and it wasn't overly-romantic to the point where you roll your eyes and think "what a typical shoujo." This manga was different in many ways. Haruna is really a tough girl and she's so positive about everything. I think the mangaka did a great job with creating their personalities (Haruna and Yoh). It was an awesome manga with amazing art and it was definitely worth reading.
I'm giving it a 9.5 because I have one problem ...
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
I wasn't really fond of the ending. It was too typical for such a unique manga and I feel that the ending lacked that big-aww i was expecting. I hate it when the guy has to leave and then the whole [one year later] thing pops up.

But all in all, It was hilarious, heart warming and captivating.
No regrets at all.

When this manga was the hype, i turned a blind eye, because it looked like a typical over rated shoujo manga.i did attempt to read a few chapters, and i wasn't impressed. I thought the plot was lame and predictable. To be honest, the summary itself was unimpressive. However after i read the first volume, I thought it wasn’t too horrible and decided to read the rest of it online and quickly got addicted. I admit it was cliche with basic shoujo dilemmas (ex girlfriend, evil girl who plots to break them apart, etc..) however the likable characters made up for it. An important thing in shoujo mangas is if you're able to feel for the characters. The author successfully conveyed her character’s emotions through realistic expressions.

At first when i read "Don't fall in love with me", which was one of the first lines that Yoh says to Haruna, I thought, oh great the girl is going to fall in love with him and then he'll end up falling in love with her, but she won't confess that she likes him because of what he told her in the beginning- not to fall in love with him. Let's just say it it didn't turn out that way--- which is very refreshing smile Seemingly predictable, but not predictable. I like. The other slight downfall, other than than clicheness was the ending, which was more on the comedy side. I guess it suited the manga, but i wished it ended more on a serious note.

I thoroughly enjoyed this manga, and would recommend it to anyone who likes high school shoujo.
