I've recently re-read this and although I still enjoy it, I feel like I can better see its flaws now. Firstly the negatives. This lays out a sweet story and offers little else. For yaoi, it is quite successful as it makes the little fan girl heart flutter, but I think maybe it's a little cheap. Not BAD by any means, just quickly plays on an easy emotional trigger and then wraps it up with a little smut. I dare to say the characters feel a bit flat. They're not bad or horribly unrealistic, which is definitely nice, but something is missing. The protagonist just sort of cries while the love interest "saves" him which is a high yield, low effort plot device really. It's also a bit sad that when the issues of bullying and homophobia are tackled, it is almost always used simply as a way to drive the story forward. Here it is addressed, but only as a way to bring the couple closer. That is just a pet peeve of mine really, but I've gotten to the point where I find it a little offensive.

As for the good, this is a sweet story. Even if I don't appreciate why and how, it *does* cover realistic issues. It does not exist in a bubble where everyone is happy and gay, and where homophobia does not exist. The characters are likable and their relationship quite adorable. For these reasons, it is above average in my opinion.

As of chapter 4, I have already fallen in love with the simplicity of the manga. The plot is normal, but the way the mangaka portrays it is simply brilliant. The art is clean, and the expressions of the characters are just at the very best. A heart warming and adorable manga. Highly recommended for all yaoi lovers!

i have noticed lately that i have become somewhat of a manga snob O.o" and i pick everything to death.. but with this one, its so cute and realistic that i actually get excited when i see the next chapter has been released *o* (and i only ever get excited when i see a Tyrant release)!

the drawing style is so clean and expressive! i could look at it forever - the cover actually put me off a bit, i thought: oh, cover kinda looks a bit... weird....dunno if i wanna read it... - but i couldn't of been more wrong! *gush* hehehe ^O^/

Junko's drawing style is SOOOOOOO CUTE, and in the refreshing way, not the super moe way. The characters of Convience-Kun are very believable, and the blossoming romance is so adorable. The story telling of this manga is incredible and though the ideas are not new, she tells them in a completely new way and in a great light. I love this.

aaah, junko is slowly becoming one of my favorite bl authors. her drawings are so superb and expressive and her story telling is so charming that she can tell a million overdone stories and retell them in a completely new way... because admittedly, there's nothing really new in this set-up: convenience store workers (not new), bullying&homophobia (been done so many times) high school drop out (done before), but it's been done with such skill and impressive storytelling that I've been enraptured from the very start. when you read a lot of yaoi like me, every plot device and strange setting starts to get old eventually, so these kind of mangaka who make an entertaining story no matter the components are really god's gift to man. *A*

I feel like this needs a review in some way.

By the first chapter I was in love. Junko have a cute style and the innocence of the maincharacter is extremely cute. I can't help but squeel whenever he is flustered and my heart skips a beat at the same time as his. I'm really taken by this!
And I'm really glad with Totomomo for doing this. They're working fast and doing an awesome job!

Update: OH MY GOSH I'M BLOWN AWAY. I love rubbing. I LOVE IT.
