This manga was called a shotacon fair enough, but i think that will stop alot of people from an wonderful story. It touched me deeply, and drew me in. I do feel that the attachment going far beyond normal friendship may have never gotten that far if the attack for Mr. Pedo may have never happened. I know in real life that can make people reach out and hold on to what they got after such a traumatic experience. So in a way i was not shocked when Jun responded its like he knew he was a life line that kept he friend together... I loved it and hated the two attack stories. For those whom do not like this i was say that in love stories in main stream manga that 70 percent of the time the girl is raped, or abused in some way or the other by the lead Male love interest or, falls hed over hills in love for no other reason than he is cool with a pretty face. This story has depth. Its sad but we in all countries have a problem with pedo so just because we dont like it i think its weird to say one type of crime is worst then the other cause one is more taboo. Crime is crime. So for a well told story albeit a bit to detailed in some areas and not in others i would say please give this a shot. Oh if you see Mr. or Ms. Pedo in real life please report them stories like this happen cause people torn a blind eye i mean really all the kids knew that teacher was a pervert but no one else had a clue? Really? Seriously?
Conflicted...

I just can't decide whether I like this or not. Though parts of it were good, there were just too many problems.
First off, the shotacon, which usually is consentual in yaoi-land, is here definitely non-consentual. This would be fine except that it's drawn in a way that is supposed to be uh...funny? Child abuse should never be made light of, it's not a joke! But it is true that only two chapters of the series has shota in it so you might still enjoy the rest...
I kept reading and was rather enjoying it, though the time skips bothered me a bit. I was like, wait what happened next? But it had already skipped a few years ahead.
I didn't have a problem with the cheating. People make mistakes and this was somehow understandable to me. I found it really emotional and sad but in a good way. What did have me baffled though was how Tatsuya didn't seem to feel all that guilty about it and how it appeared relatively easy for him to part with Junichi. WTH!? And how could Junichi be the one pursuing that SOB after what he'd done? And he'd easily managed to forget the supposed love of his life too and live a nice family life with his wife and kid. I didn't like this that much after all that it just made me mad...
The bit about the kid and his relationship with his friend I did like. It wasn't as cliché as I'd thought. The ending was good too, simple but really touching. All in all, it was worth a read but I won't be reading it again. The art wasn't good, mediocre at best... The story had both it's good and weak points. I might recommend this to people looking for more realistic yaoi.

After all those problems and everything. Just why would Tatsuya betrayed Jun by having sex with some random girl? He loved Jun. Even when he doubt Jun,with his personality I don't think he would likely to have sex with another person, esp a girl. How could those feelings of hating girls disappeared right after Takako asked him to have sex with her. Even Jun,who used to like girls, refused to have sex with the girl he met at goukon (The one who seduced him on a hotel room when he's 'DRUNK'.) Serously, this is just annoying. If only Tatsuya didn't betray him,I'm gonna give it a ten.

This was truly an amazing manga. I normally don't really like yaoi since it's so explicit, but this one had a bearable amount. It was great to see them evolve and what time did to them. I recommend it!

I've read a lot mangas, but this one really impressed me.
Yaoi manga it's most of the times superficial and the issues are always the same.
This history made cheer for them even thought they're fictional ¬¬'
It is real because people cheat on others, even the most lovey dovey couple, unlike from what someone said here in the comments. Relationships has their ups and downs and the author approached that with all the realism that a manga can give.
It's pretty rare for me to like these kind of stories, to cry in the end like I did, or even laugh with the silly jokes.
I loved that the couple it's not perfect at all, that his son not turned gay. I liked because usually eternal love stuff are cliche but the author turn it in something not cliche at all.
This story is not complex at all, it's just about simple and real love.
(Okay, I reached the sugary corny comments for life)

I read this Manga a few months ago, I love mangas so I'm always reading but I somehow forgot the name, and now I stumbled upon it again and OMG I start crying again. I fell in love with this manga the first time I read it, it's one of the BEST stories I have read so far. As you read it you will experience so many different feelings and since it's so realistic some of the things that happens hit me really hard, some events are unfair, but so is life. I cried so much when I read it, and it was soooo worth it. Maybe in a few months more I will read it again, not possible now, I just read the ending to refresh my memory and I started crying like an idiot <3 then I remembered the rest of the manga and I know I will start sobbing if I try to read it. I recommend it, it wont be a waste and you wont regret it. The mangaka is a genius, she created an amazing story.

I have just completed the Complex series. By far it is the best manga I have ever read. What a roller coaster this was.The end I had to say was an amazing one that I’m still crying as I write this. I’m crying so much I have a headache. The love two people have for each other since they were five years until they were frail old men was the first ever. I usually can't read about middle-aged or much other men in a relationship simple I have no interest but if you are like that get over it like I did and read this is a must! Something I’ll always read over and over again <3 Amazing (T.T)

After the ending, my tears just began to flow. This was a heartwarming-Sad manga. Really I just can´t stop my tears from flowing even now when I´m writing this.
I liked the Manga, it´s clearly a really unique Manga that has a Slice-of-life touch to it. The thing that stops me from giving it the highest rate though, is probablly the Shotacon content. I found it really disturbing even it it did only appear 2 times in the Manga. I also couldn´t really stop myself from disliking Tatsuya for leaving Shinozaki. That was really cruel to Shinzaki to leave him for a Woman when it´s clear that Tatsuya lead Shinozaki on. And after awhile, when he got his family settled down with that woman, he even did consider forgetting about Shinozaki, and Shinozaki was still in love with him even after all these years. Also, what´s with Tatsuya saying " You´re a bother" to Shinozaki when he clearly should just be happy that Shinozaki wanted to get back to him after all he´s done. So yeah...I didn´t really like Tatsuya.
It´s good they managed to get together in the end though.
I absolutley recommend this manga, it´s heartwarming, unique, and has a nice flow to it.
