I love this manga, sweet and cute. i cant wait to find out what happens! i also love how it develops the characters. its a great read, and im gearing for Q-ta's brother. check it out and order the books!. X
I just recently became a fan of Skip Beat and loved the acting aspect of it. When I read the description, I was really excited to read it. I also like the mangaka's previous work Hot Gimmick so I think this is going to be great.
It is a little similar to Skip Beat but the difference is the girl's character. In Skip Beat, the lead character is more tenacious and a go-getter. Honey Hunt's lead female is low on self-esteem.
Either way, I'd love to continue reading this manga.
I loved Yura by the end of chapter one- I felt her strength and her pain. Gave me shivers! The story is fast-paced and interesting. As for the two guys- I hope the manga will just stick with just those two guys instead of having even more guys go after her.
and people should stop comparing it to Skip Beat. I'm a huge Skip Beat fan too, but I can recognize that this is not a ripoff. There are many manga out there dealing with showbiz. And there aren't that many truly original plotlines out there- the most important thing is to take something reused and make it entertaining and fresh.
I had mentally rated this manga a 10 in the first chapter, but I'm giving it an 8. First off, I think she could have totally, in chapter 2, destroyed her parents' name and say some damaging things about her mother to the media- the reporters were like salivating for her to spill!- but she hesitated and let herself get whisked away. Maybe I'm just a more evil person than Yura. But then that would leave us with a different story. Secondly, though Yuka is stronger than a lot of shoujo heroines and is willing to improve herself, there is also something really submissive about her that irks me. I just hope that the mangaka doesn't screw her over by transforming her into an incarnation of Hot Gimmick's Hatsumi or screw over the story by turning it into a regular soap opera with betrayals and misunderstandings galore (and attempted rapes/assaults).
4/12/09 update: Yura is officially annoying. I'm revising my rating to a 4.
I discovered this manga not too long ago and fell in love. The plot itself seems a little farfetched and kind of silly but it’s ridiculously addictive. I’m diggin’ the budding love-triangle between the two pop-star brothers and the main character. I’m looking forward to the drama that will ensue. It’s a shame that it’s not going to be released until around April of next year in the states, though. I need more than just the 9 chapters of scanlations! However, Shojo Beat is serializing the series in their magazine so I’m looking forward to my new subscription ;D
it too bad that it's licensed now but soo far it was really interesting the two brothers (i think, i haven't read in a while so i dont' really remember) are pretty interesting. kinda of like skip beat but i think the cause of her going into showbusiness is stronger. so far pretty good but i hate how the girl is soo weak...she totaly needs to toughen up or something
I read thi sactually before Skip Beat! and I can say that the feeling of this one is far different than the feel of skip beat! Th eonly thing that's teh same is taht vengence thing but that's it~:')
It does kinda seem like skip beat... only not as interesting. It would be better if the heroine had more mailce... It seems really unrealistic the agent wanted to scout her even though he doesn't even know if she can act... Also that director guy had an ellimination round based on how the actresses ate udon?? Also when she draws black hair it looks like she shortcuts by just leaving areas un-inked.
i usually dont read manga like this but it was cute altho the main female lead is annoying. she has some good points but her bad qualities always seem to over shadow her good points which arent shown that much. it would be good to see a manga with a strong female lead once and a while.
the manga is soooo good and addicitive. the heroine is actually smart and can stand up to herself, and i like that. but she still needs some work, i hope she turns out better in the end. i love the miki aihara art, and the plot is amazing. i cant wait to read the other chapters (:
the only problem with this, is that it may be predictable, and my predictions are becoming true.
I like this manga a lot better than Skip Beat so far because Skip Beat was so much boring at the beginning. I only made it near the end of vol 1 of skip beat though. But Honey Hunt on the other hand is much more interesting at the beginning and I always look out for new chapters.
edit: I take back my word.. Skip Beat is better in term of the storyline. Honey Hunt is just plain boring and nothing exciting is going on.
