High school student Yukari Fujimaru knows a potential star when she sees one…because she sees the special "aura" they give off, in the form of angelic wings. Yukari's fellow student, the beautiful Ryoko Katsuragi, has a small pair of wings herself, and is one of these aspiring talents. She's so talented, in fact, that no one even knows that "she" is actually a boy in disguise. Now, to make her own down-to-earth dream come true, Yukari must help her new friend become a star.

I love it!
I absolutly love Penguin Revolution! It makes me feel fuzzy! XD
this book is better than her previous work. the plot is great and the characters are beautifully drawn especially Ryouko. not a book to be missed. *thumbs up!
it would have been great
it's good actually, at first i don't have any plan on reading this but when i started i just got dragged into it but just when I started to think "wow it's good and kinda different and refreshing idea" at the last 2 volumes, the ending just disappointed me.. if the ending was different or if they just added atleast 1 volume just to make the ending clean it would have been great... and there's NO CLEAR ROMANCE... T_T but still I would recommend it to others but with a warning, if you don't like an open ending then don't...
Good, just not great
Good read. The characters are all headstrong sweethearts with little growth, which is fine and nice but kinda hard to grow attached to, and wow, bishies everywhere! (On a side note, if there ever was a drama based on this and starred every single Johnny's, I'd totally watch that!)
The plot was good, but not captivating. The storytelling was smooth and fluid in the first third, the rest not so much. Scenes were cut off too quickly, stories lacked smooth transitions, and many things were just left forgotten or undeveloped. The pacing was not very good, uneven and discordant at times.
Well I may sound harsh, but I actually did like this series. It's just that it had so much potential at first, then it did neither meet my initial expectations nor go downhill in such a tragic manner that I could complain about. It was just fine, and it could have been better. But oh well, Penguin Kakumei was still far superior than many other shoujos out there.
One of my all time favorites
Not only is the art amazing and in my mind, flawless (Tsukuba Sakura is one of my favorite mangakas!), but the characters are likeable and complemented each other well. The relationships between all of them are genuine.
However, I do agree that the ending was blah. Inconclusive, but for people who enjoy imagining what happens next, it's good.
Either way, blah ending or not, I absolutely recommend to read this manga. And this is coming 2 years after reading it.
It was very nice, but it could do with a tad more suspense, everything happened so perfectly, kinda unrealistic. But that's what make it feel so pleasant. The characters were well drawn and I really liked that the girl was near perfect. It sucks sometimes when authors go to extremes to get sympathy out of the audience. I wouldn't have minded seeing a short bit and the girl cousin. And I would have really wanted to see Fujimaru's mother. But overall I really enjoyed it.

It flew it's way into my heart!
It was very cute and unexpected. It had it's cliche parts to it but I still loved it. The art was gorgeous and I LOVED all the characters! The ending was a bit unfufilling but I do like the open ending. Makes me feel light and a little sad to see it's over. I'd reccomend this.
(My new favourite bird is the chinstrap penguin. The cutest little doughbag!)
Overall it was quite pleasant, but it would be even better if the manga was longer. The ending was too cut off and it when it ended, it was like an open ending. Totally not good! But still, totally recommend this. ^o^
Couldve been so much more! The ending honestly did it no justice.. and it 100% seems like the author had to rush through the last few chapters just to finish it. So many things left unexplained Dx! But it was a good read in the least i'd have to say. Buuut ,if your look for a lot of romancey manga, this isnt for you. There's only a little dab of it here & there.

I agree, it's not very realistic, but I gave it a 10 anyways.
The ending was indeed rushed (so typical of this mangaka(?)) , but I thought the overall story was really good. It was an interesting plot with few, but very likable, characters. The main reason why I like the story so much is because it gives me a warm fuzzy feeling. It's a very fluffy story. It's not too heavy, not tragic, not deep - just very light, simple and cute. Not too many characters which is good.
