It's one of the best mangas out there. Especially shonen, I'd even go as far as calling it the best since its my favorite. And the people that are complaining that Kenshin doesn't kill anymore are just missing the whole message that RK stands for. Not a single page of this manga is boring, and the more you advance the more it sucks you in. Even the ending was satisfying to me which is rare since most series don't end remotely the way I want.
And what is it that makes this manga stand tall above the others for me? Kenshin, his tragic past that remains secret for a long time. It's what makes him my favorite character in any media. Kenshin is the type of guy that we all should strive to be.
Anime compared to manga: like Itachi159159 states, you'll better stay away from reflections cause it's totally different from the manga and it sucks completely. What for a lot of people is the most enjoyable arc gets raped bye the anime completely. But the anime follows the manga completely till the end of the Shishio ac. Trust & Betrayal had some minor differences but they all worked and only made it even more of a masterpiece.

OMG u have to read this if u like swords, fighting, martial arts, killing, and bits of romance ^_^. THIS manga is for anyone to read =) it will make you happy, sad, pissed, laugh, depressed, and VERY satisfied ^_^...once u finish this manga u will be sooooo happy that u will want to write a comment like this one once it is over...BUTTTTTT if u want to go PAST the manga ending u have to watch the movie (Samurai X: Reflection) <--- but beware it is SAD OMG so depressing but at the same time really interesting and enjoyable... it twists the manga a little bit, but it still has the same concept.
you must be aware.... that those of u that watch the movie Samurai X:reflection, it is DEPRESSING. i dunno about u but it was a GREAT movie... i just wanted to kill the writers (not the mangaka), director, storyboard person, the screenplay dude, the animation director, the animation staff the director of photography, and all the other ones listed at animenewsnetowrk... lol but it still was a really good movie well i hope this helped
i think i might have A.D.H.D
YOU MUST READ!!!!!

This is a wonderful manga, highly recommended, especially if you like martial arts and swordplay. It used to be my favorite in this genre, but now it moved on to the second place after 'Vagabond'. RK is kinda unrealistic and gets more so as the series progresses. Also, it gets kinda tedious in the last volumes. The fact that the main character never kills anyone is also annoying ^_^' . Still, a must read, and one of the best mangas around.

I thought that the anime was the best. Now reading the manga has made it even more perfect. It is the most beautiful story ever. I just cant say how great, wonderful, i dont know, this story is. There is no word. Its too great. Also is reflection real, or based on the manga. If it is i would be disappointed. If not then that is the greatest of all. PERFECT

One of the best (if not the best...) manga I’ve ever had in my hands!
The plot is great! This manga made me cry a lot of times but also made me laugh. Theoretically it’s shounen but the big thread of romance (for me it’s kind of big ;P) make you feel like you’re reading shoujo (although personally I like shounen much but everything fit with each other perfectly!!!!!
I was so addicted to kenshin, that I’ve read the whole story in one week!
You have to try this!

The artwork in the is stunning - the plot line - amazing. This manga has to be my favorite one that I've read entirely through. Amazing battle scenes, heart-wrenching events, and amazingly well done scripting and drawing make this a must read for any manga fan.

Great action, great characters, great art, great story... Except the last arc with Enishi.
But it still isn't one of my favourites, because while I understand Kenshin's background, but his resolve to kill or injure seriously even while his friends life is in danger becomes sooo annoying after a while.
