just a 10
Other than 10, which number could I have shot? The best mangas never give a sequel, or say the cleverest mangaka always can give a perfect ending; so is the situation of YuYu Hakusho

I am not a fan of basketball infact i never thought of playing it. But now not only i like to play it i like to play it seriously too. This manga is just awesome. Not a single dull moment in 31 volumes. You wont even feel how quickly you will complete reading it its so engaging. Those who have given it less than 8.5 rating seriously guys i cant understand you. Everything about slam dunk is awesome, its drawing are expressive, its hell lot of hilarious, it has really good pace.
Just one advice a must read.
This is the pinnacle of the sports manga genre. Perfection in every sense of the word. Art isn't so hot in the beginning, but it becomes incredible later on, as is the plot. Its the one manga that keeps me rereading (5 times at last count). Only problem i have with it is its rather abrupt ending, though on retrospect, thats the only way it could end. Just wished it hadnt. Must read for every manga reader, bball fan or not.

takes a bit to warm up to
When i first read it i was a bit skeptical, and the artwork to me needed some time to get used to but man, it has a great ending (although i wish there was a part II for it), this is without a doubt an amazing sports manga, and it teaches you a lot of the rules for basketball, makes me want to play =D
It's an amazing manga, but...
-1 point for making me force myself to get through the first couple of volumes. Sakuragi was so obnoxiously arrogant, I couldn't stand him. Dropped after the first volume. Returned after couple of weeks. Still had to force myself for couple of volumes, where more secondary characters got more space. -1 point for the ending. I wouldn't say that it has ended too soon, because if it did continue, it would've become stale. Last arc already felt a little bit too drawn out. The main problem is the way how it ended. Some stuff never got resolved and I don't like this kind of open endings. Other than that, it's a truly great manga.
i can't even understand why there are +1's so much! i mean you may not like mangas in this genre but this one definitely deserve more than that! this is the series from my chilhood make me love japanese animations and comics! my only regret in this manga is haruko&sakuragi duo, it's a shame that we never see those two really together but again highly recommended!!^^
I can't believe that "some manga" I took to read only because it was done by creator of Vagabond took over my life for nearly a week. I'm not a basketball fan, I did play a bit in highschool, but nothing special. Yet, the whole story immediately drawn me in, and I enjoyed it thoroughly. So many emotions... True art. 9 because I wish there would be like 20 more volumes, I wish to stay longer with all those people... Thank you Takehiko Inoue!
best manga ever
this is my all-time favourite manga!! this was the first manga i ever read and the series that got me really hooked on manga and basketball. it's so inspiring, touching and absolutely hilarious at the same time!
