From Vices and Devices:
Bright and early one Monday morning, Shino Yuzuru asks Seryou Touji out on a lark when they run into each other at the school gate. Seryou, who's immensely popular, has the odd habit of going out with anyone who asks him out first at the beginning of the week, then promptly dumping them at the end of it.
"Anyone" apparently includes male upperclassmen like Shino, and as a boyfriend, Seryou is perfect--unfailingly thoughtful and kind. Shino, obviously, has no intention of being in a serious relationship with Seryou. It's not like it's actually love or anything like that... More...

this was the first BL manga that i read knowing what i was getting into, and it is still of the best i have ever read. The romance is so cute, that art is awesome, and the characters are really loveable. The author also managed to avoid the uke/seme stereotypes, which really bother me in most other shounen-ai/yaoi manga

This manga is really beautiful in a sweet, understated way. While other mangas are full of sex, adulterers, and complicated relationships, it's really refreshing to read a manga based on pure love. Wished it was a little longer, but this manga is so achingly sweet. Something that reminds people of their first loves, ahhh, those bittersweet moments. I'm not sure if it deserves a 10, per say, while I would rate other masterpieces/long, developed series also 10, but this series really sticks in your mind. There's something about their pure love that's so precious, something that I would treasure in my heart for quite a while. Also, I really, really enjoyed it the read. 10/10 for me.

I really enjoyed this story. I bought it based on reviews and I'm glad I did. I've only had it for 1-2 weeks and I've already read it 3 times. I find myself picking it up again almost subconsciously, starting in the middle of one of the volumes and rereading this or that scene...
I feel like it's a simple, understated story that somehow ends up being very touching and, to me, beautiful.
I say 'understated' because in many BL manga that I've read (and manga in general with some sort of romance attached), it seems like many times they're heavy on the narration. When there is a significant event, such as a character realizes he/she loves someone else, most of the time it will straight out say in narration something along the lines of "I love him!" and give all the reasons why. What I really like about Seven Days is it isn't as heavy-handed. There are scenes where there is narration but there are other scenes where there isn't.
If a character realizes he loves someone else, in that page the panels may have no words-- just a progression from far to zooming in, with the entirety of the meaningfulness of that scene in his expression or the non-verbal communication between the two.
They also don't always speak in complete sentences. One character in particular has a tendency to just say what's on his mind, but not the context of it. So he may be thinking about a conversation he had with someone else and make a comment based on that, but the comment itself could seem ambiguous (like "it was just a prank") and without knowing what he's thinking, it could be misleading.
There are a few places where I still am not QUITE sure what they're really saying because they trail off before getting to the specifics but I actually love that about this series. It feels like every time I reread, I understand it a bit more. I was reading too quickly the first time to catch all the subtleties and upon rereading it feels like I notice another meaning to this or that panel. It isn't that the story itself is so deep, but that there are parts that are left a bit to the imagination, and other parts that rely on the reader to understand the characters and connect the dots about what he is really thinking now. It makes it a much more engaging to read.
I have to admit I both love and don't as much love the art. I really like it but there are a few parts where it throws me off a little-- the angles don't seem quite right, inconsistencies in the noses/eyes, their proportions seem off-- but then there's a panel where something hits me as beautifully done, and the women actually look like women and not men in drag-- so overall I don't have any complaints about the art. I think it fits the story.
One thing I like about this story is everyone is human. Some girls only see the surface, some like to tease others. There isn't much thought behind a guy with a guy vs a guy with a girl-- the characters just think in terms of love or like and don't even think to question anything else. And if the story starts out saying a character acts a particular way, it later shows that character acting that way naturally so it makes it feel more realistic.
I really wish there was more to this. I would have loved to read another 7 days, 7 weeks, 7 years-- even 7 more hours in their lives. It's a very nice story about people getting together but if you like to read about characters once they are together, it leaves off before you get to explore that much at all, sadly. I'll hold out hope that magically some day there will be more to read with these two...

I couldn’t agree morewith @keyracunan.
Pretty cute manga, but I don't see why all the 10s. I mean, there's nothing at all I'd say I don't like. I like everything. I just...doesn't hit the spot, you know? It's not the best I've ever read, it's just well constructed on every aspect.
The characters are perfectly deep and grow over the small amount of time they're together, as does the relationship between them develop in a nice and adequate pace. Their love is also really strong, we can tell it, and I like that aspect of it. But neither of the characters is my type. It didn't bother me or anything, though.
The art is kind of airy, suits the whole feeling of the story line, it's sketchy and adorable.
And thought the plot is pretty simple, it's throughoutly though of, the panels are fine and it goes by smoothly and with perfectly okay points. The chapters were short, so it made them pretty amusing.
The only thing I can actually think of that doesn't really suit my taste (other than some plot problems some reviewers mentioned before) is that there was no angst. That would be perfectly fine if the genres here didn’t say "drama". Well, I've seen none and I was expecting it. I didn't cry at all, and I'm usually emotional to the point I cry the whole thing (and Shino (the girl) is a bitch, I absolutely hate her…but I guess it’s kind of part of the story)
Also, it’s like the author completely ignored the normally overused obstacle of falling in love with a guy when the character’s previously straight and traded it for the “only one week” restriction.
It's just...not remarkable for me. Was indeed good enough to keep me interested, to the point I didn't stop reading to do anything else until I finished. But not one of my favorites. I'd recommend it 'cause I enjoyed it and it made me smile, of course. Just, maybe it's too fluffy for me?
PS1: I know it's crazy, but I kept thinking "Shiryu" every time I read Seryou's name and cracked up at the worst moments.
PS2: At the beginning I thought I'd downloaded a shoujo manga by mistake, since there was so much blah blah blah about Koike/Keiko (each translation has her name in a different way o.o) and such. There are much more girls in this than any other BL I can recall.

I was searching online of a good Shounen-Ai/BL to read and this one came up on the most read/viewed series so I checked it out.
This series is amazing. I was disappointed that it didn't continue a bit longer, BUT, It was a fantastic read! I was hooked! The characters were fantastic. There wasn't a Uke and a Seme, which was interesting and made the story very addictive to me. I don't know how to explain it.
Also the art is FANTASTIC. This person is my new favorite artist I am reading the other series that she drew for, the title of it escapes me but I am reading that currently, because its ongoing.
Hands down I was very happy with this short yet wonderful series, and recommend it to anyone.
Hope this helps!

I have not gotten the fuzzies in a while, when reading BL lately, but this one totally did it for me. It had complex characters, enough drama to keep me wondering what will happen in the end, and really expressive art. Gah, couldn't sensei just keep on writing about these characters a volume or two more?!
This was just awesome!

I just finished reading. And my was I nervous. I really couldn't predict, whether the two of them were gonna end up together or not. With this one I experienced some of the most intense feelings I've perceived from reading manga. Very few reads before are comparable. This one deserves the 10! Now go and read it, too!

It has been quite some time since I've last read something really good like this manga. The plot is simple, story is short, yet it's perfect in almost every way. A bit more can be done about the relationship between Shino( the female one) and Seryou, but besides that, everything is perfect. Art is beautiful.
