I have to agree with everyone else on this, the story and art art amazing.
And the character develop pretty well.

I'm not going to say much because the others already said enough.

Yeah, the art and story is really well done and most things I thought were to be expecting, didn't happen. Which is actually good (beats most stereotypes).

However reading through the first part of the story was all well and dandy until the part the started the new arc with Iacrima. All of a sudden I found that the whole timeline has been messed up and we jump into a year into the future. I don't mind since the story will make up for that, but it was really unexpected and frustrating that you jump such a huge time gap. I'll recheck again for the mangaka's reason for doing this once they mention it but for another time I guess.

Anyways I guess the problem with the second story (Iacrima) is that even though only one year has passed both male heroes DRASTICALLY change within just a year (among some other characters) and that somewhat annoys me. Though it's been a year, they don't need to go through such a change because now they look like they're in their mid 20's or something.

Well other than that, this is a pretty good read right now, and I wonder how all these twists will come to an end

AWESOME!

Man this manga is just plain awesome. I relate to those people who thinks that the manga at first when looking at the cover would be like pretty general romance manga, like what i initially thought of somewhat similar to Ah! My Goddess! which of course i love both manga and anime. So i decided to read this manga, and man was i surprised! For the better that is, since it is actually more serious than i thought, at first I thought it was a general theme that the weak main character will become strong to protect the girl, but then the moment the hero who imagined his fairy tale just went down the drain and that the world he was going into was more like Hell, man was i HOOKED!

Also this manga has sooo much things to cover that has left untold, like Haruna and Lilu's past (why Lilu got betrayed), why Shinya's classmate (the girl named Akie) also felt Shinya's presence when he almost died, Hime's past, the mystery of Taru Taru (Since she seems a lot powerful that she lets on), the truth behind the books and the destruction of the world, the mystery of Shinya's teacher lol (maybe a side story of the guy would be for laughs) and what is going to happen with Shinya's harem?!

I hope he would still have Lilu with him in the end, since she is likely to be the one to be separated. Since it also implies that Lilu is a main character as Haruna, since they did meet at the same place and the same feeling Shinya felt with the both of them. What can i say, I am more of a Lilu fan than Haruna's since her past and disposition is quite tragic.

I still hope they manage to stay together and all live happily in the end somehow. I truly hope that the story would have common theme that the hero will win and everyone is saved and stays together. Well what can I say? I'm a sucker for heart warming, live happily ever after ending, i mean staying with all of them was Shinya's dream after all.

PS: Sorry if I mentioned any spoilers, since there seems to be no spoilers tag.

the first time i read this manga, i thought it will be a light story manga of adventure when the heroes and the people they love rarely die and the heroes can make all enemies repent by their ideals of strong will. and i am totally mistaken with that opinion. the first chapters are all just the beginnings, but later on it is getting really emotional and moving. it is a story about a kind boy, doesnt have anything special, and meets with a girl that calls him a messiah to save the world. his power awaken as he saw a little girl killed just in front of his eyes without him being able to do anything due to lack of power. and later he has the power, but now the person that is supposed to be his leader and counselor, betrayed him and made him lost all of his memories due to despair of losing the person he loves. by the time he can meet the person he loves, that is really important for him, she forgets about him and has been controlled completely by the betrayer. now, he has to choose, either to save the earth in a brink of destruction by killing her, or saving her, despite the earth being destroyed?

human can be so selfish, but sometimes, some selfishness cant really be hated. especially when it talks about love.

the art has become more shounen and rough in volume 7. but it is getting better in a way. but some elements of art from previous volumes can still be felt and it we can still like it as the manga we know as "Watashi no Messiah-sama". the plot is interesting, specially when making the time span of one year with suddenly making the hero forgot everything. characterization is perfect with making the proganist as not somebody that is too strong, too idealist, too ridiculously miraculous with strong will power and ideal. he is just a man, ordinary man that is still growing and improving. he has a feeling that he cant lie to.

perfect manga to read on. dont miss it.

Where to start where to start.... When you first pick it up, after the first chapter or 4 it seems nothing special. Boy meets girl, good for nothing guy is actually someone amazing (whooo, how'd they figure that one?). But after the first volume it does kick of pretty well. The character development is decently done, and the story is smooth up to around volume 6. I actually commend this manga, since it had me scoffing in the beginning but near the end I was pretty interested. After the 6th volume though I think you will find yourself a bit confused until you get later on into volume 7.

Anyway, though there are quite a few kinds of "girl finds boy and the bum of a guy suddenly grows to be come a hero" series out there, this certainly has its place. Artwork wise, I was pretty satisfied (I did nearly slam my head against my laptop at the beginning of chapter one *cough*older version of Mahou Sensei Negima*cough*) but the artwork does evolve as the volumes go. There are plenty of decent drawings as well as some ridiculous chibby scenes if thats your fancy (I personally liked them a lot ;D) Over all, this was a good series, but from the looks of things the release gaps will have me soaking in despair.

EDIT - Doh.... it looks like it ended O_o better soon than to drag it out I guess... ah well >_<

The first six volumes rocked!! The second chapter is just the beginning...
It's an epic. Probably one of the best in action, fantasy, and romance mix (if not the best in this genre combination). The artwork has a shoujo feel to it but don't let that stop you. It's story will keep you hooked and wanting for more.

it kinda weird..the story goes just like how it should have been until vol 6. then starting vol 7 the story start 1 year later..the mangaka skipped over a lot. well, it one way making the story more interesting.
at the beginning the manga doesnt really interest me much. it pretty much the same as other manga. later on the plot get better.

I dropped this manga at some point but i just had to to start again when i read these ratings biggrin. I'ts really good... though i don't like the sad parts in it that much. Sometimes a bit "over-emotional", in my opininon at least. But it still has romance and action...so i just love this biggrin
