Regardless of what you may think of the eternal power-ups in Dragon Ball, this is still one of the greatest and most popular mangas of all time.

It revolutionized mangas.

The Dragon Ball filled me with hahahaha and many lol. Truly a fantastic read!

[color=red][edit by mod, SPOILERS!!!!!!]
The Dragon Ball Z excite me to know what happened to our lovely heros and sub-characters. Introduction to Gohan, Dende, and other characters really open a new feeling to me. Though the down part of DBZ is the fact that it revolves around "looking the stronger fighter to battle since i have saiyan blood in me and thirst for a great whacking", really made me turn the other way...almost.

I adore Gohan, he is my favie. Though his geekiness in the future really make my jaw drop. The Gohan fighter really suits him better, than a geek with GLASSES >_< Mind me, glasses is ok, but this is GOHAN, you know, the cute funny lovable and yet reliable Gohan turned to the glasses for comfort T_T Videl may be my next favie. I enjoy the Anime when it comes to these two. I enjoy the manga when it comes to the plot line and characters developing and no unnecessarily parts.

One of the best classic

If manga is about bizarre actions/fighting, and out of the world dramatic plot, dragonball was one with great influences in those aspects, dragonball started as a comedy/action kind of story, but once goku becomes a father, it turned into an action filled story, though repetitive and predictable, they were really fun.

The character designs, I gotta admit, were pretty creative and unique, especially the idea of super saiyan, and the 3 different forms of freeza, different creatures and ideas.

However the plot gets really repetitive as it continues, during the cell saga, Toriyama Akira (and his team) became really lazy in terms of plot, character design and art, you can tell from his out of proportion characters during some scenes, sketchy lines, and his random not so funny comedy in the last arc of the series, my guess would be that Akira Toriyama continued the series only because of the really big fanbase.

However, the anime, starting from dbz, is inferior compared to the manga, because of the totally useless fillers and boring action scenes (with fillers).

If we're talking about Dragonball, then it's definetly a 10, but if we're talking about DBZ and DB GT then it's a whole other story.

First Part a Classic

Okay, volumes 1-17 (not sure) when goku is still a child, like said in the post right below me, was great. The Red Ribbon Army thing and everything was truly the greatest. The search for the Dragon Balls was also great. But then came when Goku became a father. I'll have to admit that the Saiyan arc and Frieza arc were barely good, although the timing during the final fight with Frieza was somewhat bad. This was due to the fact that they wanted the Dragonballs. After that, it was all fight the bad guy, win a tournament, useless stuff. The first part definitely gets an 8, but the second part gets a 6 (a 5 if this hadn't been one of the first mangas I've read and a favorite until I found different ones).

the first 15ish vol when son goku is still a child is almost great...
then something happens
it went from fun adventures in a magical world
to a boring LETS FIGHT A NEW SUPER STRONG MONSTER thing
so when raditz come along in volume 17 or 18 something it went poo
but with those first ...great... 15 volumes in mind i still think its a half good manga
