I first started watching the anime; which the OST is really incredible. The manga is better, as always. It's very easy to read. I really like the gradually development of the characters. Althought they face many many obstacles, they never give up. Anyway, its even better than NANA, IMHO. It's a must read, even if you're even a little bit interested in Rock music. Other way, it's still a great manga. I finished chapter 92 and seems like this manga could last another 100 chapters. The story is still halfway and the band may be about to gain worldwide recognition.
So why did I rated it an 8? Because people are giving out 9s & 10s too easily. A 10 should be almost impossible; a 9 should be given maybe one in a ten thousand.

If you like rock bands, this is a must read manga!!
I also like the anime, great OST!!!

The beginning is kinda unsteady but if you persist, you'll really be rewarded with lots of fun.

man this manga rocks. I havent seen the anime yet, but i cant stop reading the manga. I didnt though it was that good, I recommend it to everyone. YOU MUST READ IT !!!

This manga was such a great manga to read! I'm currently at chapter 90 and I can't wait untill chapter 91 comes out cause I'm so anxious to find out what will happen next. I never even liked this type of rock music before i read the manga! Pesonally i think the manga is a tad bit better than the anime but they're both reallly good and enjoyable. I loved how people love to doubt them and cause them problems so they can't make it big but they all somehow prove them worng! This series is a MUST READ! Definitly one of the BEST!!!

I realy realy REALY gotta read more... It's rare when anime and manga are this good. Yes, it's realy simple. On their way to the top they meet with trouble, and when they got past that, they had to start over and meet more trouble. But the interesting thing is that both troubled situations coat them and in the end they must break through it all. This setting kinda unites everything. Sub plot line is not weak(which is also good)... And characters steadily develop(they don't suddenly become ultra cool)...

This is the number 1 for me guys! Even I was surprised! i am not into music but i really fell in love with the characters and the band!! It has a great story with a lot of surprises, totally brutally realistic and unbelievable at the same time..and the character development is super!! art work is also great and the romance too, with its realistic portrayal of what really happens in a relationship, so unpredictable!!

beck's a great story. its really inspiring and down to earth. the day to day crap was really relatable and was almost enjoyable to watch because even though bad things happens to koyuki (i think he even says at some point 'when it rains it really pours for me' or something) he still doesn't get majorly depressed and looks at the situation positivevly. i also thought that the passion for music was sucessfully transferred to the reader and at some points i really wanted to pick up a guitar and start playing, though i don't know how. some of the ways they related to the american music industry was kind of gimmicky, but it was pulled off a lot better than i've seen else where, like they won't just throw out some musician's name just so that the reader's like 'ooo they know who that is!!!' which i find largly annoying, but the people they did encorperate were given a couple of lines to expalin who they were and how they fit into the story so it wasn't that bad. the story did feel like it was dragging on in some places, but those were usually the places that the guitar guy was being a douche, but it gets resolved so i guess you just have to suffer through it (though the story usually makes up for the suffering, and i guess it could be seen as a good kind of tension). i'm not done it yet so i don't know if i'm satisfied with it yet, but there are a few indicators of a happy ending so i think it'll pay off. so to sum up... give this one a shot.

i just started getting into anime & this one i like alot because i can relate to it alot. i would love to be in a band one day so thats why i love beck alot .beck is a really good anime by my opinion good story line . very funny too i laugh so much watching it & the beginning .awesome anime
