Holy fucking shit .This is ,this is ...... epicccccccccccccc. One of the manga has the epic ending . I was kinda scare that the manga will end in confusion ,unsatisfied shit like other seinen manga i have read , guess what is not . The 2 last chaper are breathtaking so fucking awesome , The story over all is very interested and amusing , the character develope petty well as for me i like kano character develope most (Because his is a epic main char) . It aslo very dark and pretty deep , some chapter i have to read over and over to graps it meaning ( i think ?) .The nudity and gore may be make you feel a little uncomfortable at first but more you read it ,you will ignored it pretty fast and it also make the story more dark feeling in it . The art honestly was not my type of art , althought i may fit the story well give us more mind fucked feeling. Freesia over all was a very good manga and the ending was the thing i enjoy the most , make it even more epic ( Kano so fucking badass )

jiro is awesome.
all his works are different, thought provoking, cutting edge manga.
slightly disturbing, but really good. his artwork has been described by some as "crude" but i find it very detailed, just not as clean as some other mangaka..
this is his only real proper series though, and its a big shame its uncomplete (scanlation wise) as i could probably give this a 10 if i knew how it ends........

Intriguing, if a bit bland

Jiro Matsumoto is a smart author with a whole lot of intriguing ideas, but I just couldn't really get into this one. This may just be my brain not being able to wrap my mind around Matsumoto's superior intellect, but it seemed as if the manga just sort of floated on with nothing much to say. There's an interesting philosophical inquiry or psychological idea here or there, but nothing to really latch onto. I think one of the reasons for this is due to the lack of a "normal" character that the reader can identify with. Kano is out-of-this-world crazy, Mizoguchi is an objectively terrible person, we're never really able to see the events through Higuchi's eyes, and Yamada, the closest thing the manga has to an average human being, is bland and uninteresting. However, I'm sure dedicated readers (who don't mind the rough artwork) can find much depth here, especially if they're a fan of Matsumoto's other work. Unfortunately, Matsumoto didn't draw me into his characters and world enough to really make me care about what he's trying to say.

Unknown and underrated

I have finally finished this. This is a manga that gets better and better as it goes on. It's certainly not for everyone, but give it a try or two--I gave it a second chance (hated it on my first attempt, but it somehow stayed at the back of my mind) and to date, I can say this is one of the best manga I have ever read.

A couple of things:-

(1) The art doesn't have a consistent quality. The covers and the first few pages are good and neat, but the rest are pretty raw and untidy and looks as if the artist didn't put a lot of effort into it. In the beginning, this was quite a turn-off for me but I eventually grew to like the style.

(2) The plot and esp. the characters are far from what you'd find in a typical manga. But I think it's a good thing, in this case. The series is roughly episodic and may be separated into several arcs, usu. focusing on an individual case and its relevant characters (either the enforcers or their targets.) There is quite a bit of humour in the writing, although--looking at some of the other reviews here--perhaps not everyone will be able to pick up on it.

At the end of the day, this is a manga that can weird you out and make you think, is funny as well as sad (almost approaching tragedy at some points), and I think this is why it's such a great manga, because it's working on so many levels and manages somehow to pull it off. A final caveat: the sexual content is quite explicit, and more revolting than erotic IMO. Don't let that put you off the manga though--you may eventually develop a taste for it =p

Spoiler (highlight to view)
The story is kinda stupid...well, its not stupid, but their actions piss me off to no end...you guys say, gore, nudity, I could care less about that, they're all cold blooded killers...The regulation in itself makes me mad...If it were me, I'd wipe out that whole organization...killing those who have nothing to do with it...the main character makes me mad too..his gf is screwed by some other guy and he doesn't care (WTF? are you kidding me?), he killed that other woman too...and that guy who abuses his wife/gf pisses me off more...if theres anything that this manga has that tears me apart on the inside..is the mistreatment of women... i cant handle that...it irritates/frsutrates/piss me off to no end.

And because of this I can't keep reading.

The character is weird.. He doesn't care about anything, is too apathetic, and he
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
watches impassively as a woman gets raped right in front of him, and he doesn't care or even blink. He also talks to people that aren't there
He has no social skills, lives with a cheating girlfriend for no reason really.

This is a very boring manga and I don't see why everyone likes it. I've had my own share of gore (I read guro) but this was just tasteless.

It's boring. This manga is like this :" You take a bucket of clay. Throw it on the floor. Scrub it of and pummel the mass with fists. Finally, put in the chimney hoping it will adjust itself into a statue." Yep, excitting, but its nonsence. It doesn't work that way, and I doubt it ever will.
Do yourself a favor, read some shoujo or smthn. Atleast it wouln't ruin your good mood.
