The story is just as breathtakingly beautiful as the cover art. Lol that sounds really sappy, but seriously, this oneshot is worth your time. I didn't even watch Hoshi no Koe and I understood and loved this manga. And of course, the art is so pretty Mizu Sahara became my favorite mangaka. It's got a quiet, bittersweet, and soft feel to it.

Beautifully drawn & the story has lots of potential.
But it's too long for a short story, and has too many loose ends for a single volume manga. Felt unsatisfying incomplete.

so sad, but some inaccurate details of science and also incomplete story. Seems it ended too fast.

I loved this!! I was thinking twice about renting this from the library but once I started reading it, I was really hooked on it and didn't want to return it. I literally cried after reading this, either this is really good or I'm just a big softy deep inside.
I loved the OVA to this, ive only seen it twice but both times ive been an absolute mess after watching it, the reason? it hits you so hard and you just cant help but cry.
This however isn't the OVA, but I still ended with tears streaming down my cheeks, though overall I preferred the OVA as it had less meaningless scenes (The OVA had no meaningless scenes, that was the reason it worked so well) but the mangake did do an amazing job bringing this fantastic story to print format.
This is highly recommended even if you aren't as sappy as me, the story conveys loneliness so amazingly that its impossible not to have some kind of reaction to it. Even if you prefer pure action or plain simple comedies, try this out, it may not have either of those elements but its only 1 volume and well worth your time, if your a fan of drama then it would be a crime to not read this AND see the OVA.

If space technology such as this is actually possible, I'm curious to know why someone travelling at the speed of light would not age while simultaneously earth ages. It sounds like a horrifying experience if this ever becomes real.
