Liking it

Needed some time to actually like this manga, love Rinali and reading it became easier since volume 3. The art is pretty good, but quite confusing at times during action scenes imo. The story seems nice and still developping; got some very cool ideas in there and a very special sense of style to it.

I remember this series as a dark theme. I don't get where the shonen AI comes in as there no gay themes with in the series. Or even shoujo for that matter. It not even consider yaoi. It a very fun comedy series that has it very sad a dark moments. It's a great one that I enjoy reading and still great. The artwork was very unique and changes drastically after the mangaka goes on hiatus. I personally loved her older art style but it still beautiful to look at. Story is nothing new but a very fun read.

I would agree with the previous review and add that at some point the art style changes so much that it's hard to recognise people. It seems more like a different person writing it than just the mangaka being ill, but I guess people can change that much.

But still, the first 3/4 or so is awesome, a but derivative but so's everything.. and some really memorable fcked-up moments. and the anime is even better. Just read it until it starts really annoying you, then make up your own ending. Or wait for the Anime to re-start and hope for some serious editing (because there's still a story in there somewhere, and it is starting to get better again), but that will probably never happen.

In my opinion, D. Grey Man is my favorite series. The anime was breath taking and each episode made me so excited to watch. I was disappointed when the anime ended as it left many questions un-answered. And so, I decided to start reading the manga and actually, it was the first manga I have ever read. My heart would throb when I saw that a new chapter was released but now, I've lost it. From EXACTLY chapter 194, the manga started going down hill for me. It was getting sketchy and I had no idea what was going on. I STILL don't know whats going on. Personally, I believe they have made Allen look like a girl and he was all I looked forward to. I continue reading this manga because of Allen Walker <3 but still, I can easily say now that I do not like it as much as I used to. Some of you may like it but, it's no longer what it used to be. I miss the old Allen. T-T

D.Gray-Man is absolutely breathtaking! The futher you advance in the story the more you have to read it! In the begining the story is prety obvious, The Milenium Earl tries to destroy the world with his Akuma's and he Noah clan, but the story becomes much more intense and realistc (I'm serious, the war becomes more like how it could be here in our world if we had such a war).
Hoshino-sensei does the best she can with the art, people are complaining about it but the art is still good and a great part of the characters even look more appealing than before (Tyki~ Road~and yes Allen to~~ =3)! And she has her own unique style, no matter how she draws it! And every mistakes or things she doesn't like in the drawing style is re-drawn/coloured in the Volume's.
She tries to draw as much as possible as she can, being to scare to dissapoint her fans (seriously, she's like Miranda (from this series) and she's so cute!)

This manga is really worth to read! and it's also fun to read her try-out manga's Zone and Continue, you see how those two manga's turns into D.Gray-Man, one of the best manga's ever!!!

this is one of my favorite series becus it's actually more realistic than almost any other anime/manga, it's not the typical shounen stereotype when the "good guys prevail" it's quite the opposite there are at a disadvantage and the bad guys are PWNing...it actually makes me think that the heroes just might lose but overall its great, at first it might be boring but the farthere u get into it u get used to it and it becomes even more better so if you read this, give D. Gray-Man a try .p.s great plot as well ^-6

D.gray-man is one the best manga i read so far.Its one of the shounen that I'm reading and doesn't seem so predictable. You can't just compare this with Bleach or Naruto. You just can't. It's so on a league of its own. It has a genius story plot that keeps you wanting more. Not like other shounen for instance bleach (i like bleach and all but you can't deny)that it keeps on going on in circles with the same people and same events. The characters and story evolve. You see struggle and heart break but you also see characters that keep on going when all the outcomes say "we are so going to die" and still find away to keep sane so how win with their pride intact. D.gray-man is a moving story that has an edge of darkness and whole alot of cool superpowers.

Not bad, but not great.

At first I thought this would be very unique, but it turned out to be similar to FMA in its tone and atmosphere. Only it doesn't have some of the deep pain that FMA did, and as such it lacks real depth... It's just one "mission" after another, without being as dark or as thought-provoking as it could be. The idea of Innocence being a weapon is really damn cool, and I can't help feeling that the mangaka could've made better use of it...

Then again, that's just me. If you're looking for a decent action manga to get into, then this will work great for you. However, if you're looking for something really brilliant and original... This is not it.

I adore D.Gray-man <3 However, I have a little critic for you guys... the summary provided for the series doesn't represent it, and much less the chosen pic. It's all good if you're Linali fans, but she's far from the main character >< But most of all, I'd change the info. Why not take some mini summary from one of the groups scanlating it, if not from Wikipedia? There's a nice article on DGM there.
