GTO is one of the first and funniest Mangas I have ever read. The main characters are great, it got sickly fun events and scenes all the time. This comics artwork is extremely good but it's too much text and details on the pages it is hard to see in the usual paperback format thereby bringing down the grade a bit.
I totally recommend it though!

Not much can be said that already hasn't, don't judge this story by it's cover or what you've herd, read it for yourself and give it a chance and you may just be surprised how good it can be.
amazing...

Must read. Don't judge the specifics of this manga based on the comments here, just simply read the manga.
Only thing that makes me angry about this manga is that while the ending was...good... it didn't feel good enough. Almost as if it didn't live up to the previous 199 chapters. I just think it failed to explain some things about the different characters which I'm sure everyone wanted to know. I mean...You're introduced two characters, earlier they seem to fall in love with each other, but never confess... and that's it. The manga doesn't take it any further than that, or explain what happened to those two characters in the end. Just sort of irritates you.

The only thing I didn't like about this manga was the exaggerated facial expressions (especially the mouths) and the frequent ranting by some of the characters. Though those things are probably needed to get the point across, it was just taxing to have to read line after line of a rant when it didn't matter if you read it or not. Eventually I wised up and just skimmed the rants to get the jist of it.
all in all its a really good manga thats got lots of drama, humor, and action. and it was worth reading.

This series is pretty good. It's almost very rare that a teacher would somehow crawl their way into the hearts of students who hate them with their whole being. Not the mention that I love Onizuka's character. It's a good, hilarious read.
My only turn-off with this is that the grammar goes horrid with the blue text boxes, and the constant "Onidzuka," instead of Onizuka. I'd love to read the correct scanlations if someone took the time and effort to make them. =] I kind of stopped reading at volume 6, as the grammar seemed to take the major downfall in that section.
