Description
The main character is Carol, a blonde-haired, blue-eyed American teenager from a wealthy family with an interest in Egyptology studying in Cairo. When her mentor discovers the tomb of a young pharaoh, a curse is put on the excavation team and Carol. The curse sends her back in time to ancient Egypt, where she becomes embroiled in the affairs of Egypt and other ancient countries such as Assyria and Babylonia. I read the manga until volume 5 or 6 and I began to see that's there no point to it. The plot is repetitive and the characters are lame and shallow. Don't know why I saved money to buy it before. Guess it was because I was still little.
Okay, so it says "Read it now." Sure. But let me say this: I just HAVE to comment on Esthetique's AWFUL grammar and spelling! Really, I nearly stopped reading this series on the first volume, JUST because it was so horrible. And to me, the character designs for the modern characters aren't that impressive, and neither is a lot of the art. But hey, I rate for story, and I say READ IT. (Datenshi: And to think she's only finished the second volume...)
Well, I, maybe, read to the 41th volume. And, you know ? ... The manga always repeats only one story... Carol went to somewhere, was caught and Memphis went to saved her. Go, be caught, be saved... and, go, be caught, be saved .... OMG!!!! What the hell the story is going on!!!
Although I must admit the story has alot of loose ends, when you start reading it you keep on reading it. I couldn't stop but on th eother hand if there really are 51 volumes I really wonder if the story will be able to keep your intrest.
I really enjoy it, because I don't care that there is no historical correctness, fast-paced art or some soap opera.
If you love historical shoujo, you might quite enjoy it. The art remembers me a bit of Candy Candy.
