Same Old, Over and Over
I enjoyed this to start, but after almost 80 chapters, the monster-fighting thing has gotten old. I'm no longer excited to see a new chapter. Instead I skim through. At this point in time, I think the mystery of the island really should have developed further. We've barely learned anything and it doesn't look like we'll learn anything anytime soon, since this current arc is just another variant of monster-fighting. I've given up.
Edit: Okay, in the current chapters the mystery of the island is developing and the story seems to have finally moved on from the monster format.

I've been reading the raws so I have read up to chapter 91, and let me say this manga is good.
It has the same survival and dangerous animal aspect of 7 Seeds, but there are more characters and it really feels like they have a community. I love the interpersonal aspects of the plot as much as the survival.
If it seems like a typical into the wild type manga, don't be fooled. The manga begins throwing curve balls left and right and have you wondering about the true nature of this island.
Spare the Women!
Well, I must say this series crept on me unexpectedly, I really didn't know what to expect with descriptions such as "Lord of the Flies spin-off" plus "Lost World" minus the dinosaurs.
It gets pretty rivalling and as a previous reader commented its a shounen a.k.a action hot blooded series, so female readers should be prepared to see some ridiculous fan service thrown in.
I can't really comment on the way the prehistoric gigantic mammals attack and kill the survivors in this, but i do love the "Battle Royale" theme, the inclusion of raw human emotion really appealed to me, while i was actually concerned the mangaka will shied away from these unpleasant realities, luckily he manage to do so without over saturating the reader yet able to tastefully convey the harsh truth of human nature. (e.g. rape, mob panic, murder)
However one of those flaws of being a shounen is the eyerolling optimism of the main character, especially the male lead, you would think, by now that you shouldn't completely trust new people they find and not to wander into the wild un-armed with...I dunno...SOMETHING. The real lack of survival techniques employed by the kids are never really explained, so the only other time you see them eat or poop, you think they been surviving on berries and still make the silly mistake of wandering off into the bush without a guard or a weapon....
While you expect the naivety from poor 15yr old kids (and the occasional adult) thrust into the life/death situation, you would think by chapter 40+ (which seems to show a time scale of at leased a fortnight or more) that they should of gotten a inkling of the problems above.
But yes a potentially great read and being a male reader, i can't help but wince every time a girl is killed/murdered senselessly.
THE GENETIC POOL JUST DWINDLED! D:
Makes me weep everytime
If they want any hope of surviving, you need people! or you all end up being related to each other.... D:
But then again this won't matter one bit if they don't erect some earth embankments and start figuring out to forge tools/weapons or they won't survive in the next 6 months.... :/
Even if it stays true to it shounen roots and all that but I like the survival theme and the protrayal of the prehistoric mamals is good (no Dinosaurs) the mamals of that time suffered of gigantism (i'm not joking) one thing i don't like is the country ideal i find it irealistic they ought to start with a tribe or a village (towns didn't emerge until later when population growth reached a certain threshold ) ---update i wonder about the new "X people remaining" is it a reverse chapter counter like the one in "Battle Ship Yamato" ??

The Lord of the Flies or is it Lord of the Flies what ever thats what this manga is based on
It a spin-off of The Lord of the Flies I kinda like it because its eerie and gruesome but hate it for the same reason. I like how it shows how ugly people can be when theres no rules and how dependent we are on society, but then again its betrayal there murder here, disease that makes your eyes bleed and then die. I mean Im scared one of the main charaters are gunna get raped -.- anywaysssssssssss..... READ THIS IF U LIKE DEEP SCARY EEK AMAZING FREAKY MANGAS with hot chicks and 5 ton dinosaur thingys
I love this kind of manga!
survival or something it really shows the darkness of people when things got crazy but then there are people who can managed to stay in shape even in this condition. people who have darkside somehow show their true self in this kind of situation specially those who take advantage. the author did well in showing how people will react in this kind of situation and the worse people who already have darkness is one of those people making it more of a hassle for the protagonist oh I love the characters all of them has a specific rule in this manga.
i'm in the newest release i really wonder what that woman said attacked by the bear is kinda sounds fishy for me since it is an era of dinosaurs.

I liked it at first, then it just got boring.... Maybe it's just me though, as I am not really a fan of this type of manga(survival plot). There doesn't seem to be anything new about it, so I am dropping this.
I actually quite like this manga. It's setting and plot is interesting [also the animals~ since most of them I never even heard of before xD] It gets even better later on [chinese scanlations are up to ch60] Though everyone seems to compare it to other series like Lost and stuff...I haven't watched them yet so I can't compare them. But Cage of Eden by itself is entertaining xD [no idea how to describe how good the series without spoiling it]
@comel and McCasper
Spoiler (highlight to view)
and those who were wondering how the glasses guy recharges his laptop, you will find out in ch 54 xD But yea...he does have to recharge his laptop
Every creature is on meth or something. Insert peace. Insert panty shot. Insert some huge ass thing on meth going Rambo. Insert pokédex info regarding the random encounter.
What's with the criticism?
@wait321: Well, they didn't... If they froze. @acritic: There was some logic there. For most animals, if you show that you are too much trouble to bother catching, they MAY(not fool proof, of course...) turn and go get some easier prey, especially if it is available. For the saber-toothed tiger, if the bird thing hadn't come charging at them, they would never have noticed it sneaking up behind them... It was suddenly there. Also, the rhino things were rutting, right? like stags, they were competing... the kids were just in the way. That pack of panther things seemed more like hyenas to me, with the line of fur... which are feliforma as well, but they hunt a bit differently.
This is a great take on Lord of the Flies... they even have the lord of the flies(kind of, in an abstract way)
and that underwater seal ancestor thing? ok, yeah, but if it was TOO realistic, they'd ALL be dead, so....
And yeah, it is odd how the laptop didn't get ruined in the water...
