Description
Kurokami Medaka, the strongest girl in Hanokiwa Gakuen (Academy), leads the school's student council. The student body can submit pleas for help, 24 hours a day and 365 days a year, into the suggestion box that Medaka installed. Together with council members Zenkichi, Akune, and Kikaijima, Medaka takes on the challenges in the school that range from mundane tasks to supernatural battles.

i really likeed it in the beginning but then it just kept going on and on with the same stuff and then it started to get boring; ill pick it up when more chapters come out

the first few chapters of this manga are really great, with a good art and story, but in the later chapter the quality of the story down...
I hope it will improve and back to be what it was, without just show Medaka winning everyone e ignore who in the start was the protagonist

to anyone that gets sucked into the bayesian avg. like i did, i suggest u SERIOUSLY rethink this manga. look at kevadu's wall of text and you will see why.

this manga is some HSDK wannabe with no direction and anyone with a knack for storytelling could come up with a better plot than this.

... its a quite forgettable manga. never read it, even if u have spare time and NO OTHER MANGAS ON YOUR WISHLIST >.> every chapter gets worse and worse. as if the author thinks by adding more and more he can somehow make the storyline better. but they only way it could possibly save itself now was if the whole manga just started from scratch, and only the artwork remained. Beause to be perfectly honest, thats the only good thing about this manga.

Well, I've just read chapter 23 of Medaka Box manga. It was cool when I started reading the series.The first few chapters were pretty funny and a lots of comedy and then it turned into a shounen battle which sucked. The other main male character lost his role. I meant that he become sidelines. From major role to minor role, just like that. He lost his purpose on the manga. I'm sorry to say this but it's getting boring.

Good art, funny story and unique characters. It is pretty silly, it does drag a bit and it is becoming a bit predictable. Chapter 21 is the conclusion of a major story arc so now is a good time to test drive it.

This manga really is great and unique in the first few chapters (chapter 1-10 i think). However, the later chapters are really suck. The jokes just get repeated and there aren't any thing new at all. Plus, like the other person said, the other characters are better off not exist. In addition, the male protagonist is lame since well all the works are done by the super woman. I think he's actually just there to create some retarted jokes and to make the superwoman look more beastly. After 20 chapters, i wonder if he is really a protagonist or just a supported character. In my opinion, he's just a supported character execpt for the fact that he appears in the first chapter which gives us a feeling that he should be a main character.

Besides, what's up with the romance tag? I truly believe that there is absolutely no romance in this manga. If this manga deserve a romance tag, than manga such as naruto should get one too.

I used to be a big fan of this manga back when it was first starting out. The idea of having a main character who is capable of doing anything was kind of amusing at first, when it was balanced out with the idea that the male lead could handle some stuff on his own. But newer chapters seem to promote the idea that the other characters might as well not exist since miss Super Woman can do anything on her own. The art is very good for the most part, but it's hard to get behind a manga where the main character is the biggest detraction point for me.

My opinion of this manga seems to change every time I read it. Sometimes I really enjoy it and sometimes I hate it. I'm not going to rate it because I honestly don't know what to give it...

Let's make something clear: Nobody in this manga is even remotely normal. At first I thought that Medaka was the only weirdo but as the manga goes on sometimes I wonder if she's actually the most normal. I mean, she may be inhumanly perfect in every way but at least she reacts to things in a sensible way considering her abilities. Everyone else in the manga seems like a caricature.

The thing is, none of the problems they deal with in this series are actually exotic or extraordinary. They tackle normal issues that normal high school students might really encounter. But all the characters in this manga are all so exaggerated that they blow everything out of proportion until it seems extraordinary.

Case in point: The money-obsessed swim team. Sure, there are lot's of people in real life who are obsessed with money, but few of them are so jaded that they will proudly proclaim to anyone who might be listening that money is really the only thing that matters to them. But what I really can't get over is...if they are so obsessed with money why did they form a *swim* team? They don't appear to care about swimming at all. Why didn't they get jobs or start a business or something? It just doesn't make *sense* and the author never provides a good explanation.

It's all boke with no tsukkomi. Sometimes that can work but other times it just seems...surreal. Like watching some sort of weird play. It makes me wonder if this story is even set in Japan or if it's set in some alternate reality that just happens to bear some resemblence to Japan.

It doesn't help that there doesn't seem to be much in the way of story progression. The series is stuck in the same repeating pattern. And the current story arc (student council vs. enforcers) is the most surreal yet. I feel like I will drop it from my reading list soon if it doesn't go somewhere...

OK, enough with the negatives. There is a reason I have kept with it for this long: It actually can be quite funny at times. You just have to turn off the part of your brain that is worried about *why* the characters act the way that they do and go with the flow.


**Edit**: Well, that was unexpected. In my original comment I criticized this manga for (among other things) its lack of direction. I said the story didn't appear to be going anywhere...well, now it's going somewhere: straight to mediocracy. Seriously, this setup was never suitable for a shounen battle manga but that appears to be what they want to do with it. Blah, I have just lost any interest I had in this series...

the manga at the moment seems like a joyful simple read and it is. but i think that if the story progresses it can become something pretty great. the characters are great and well medaka is perfect...in every way possible. if this manga can pull out a deep storyline (like mahou tsukai kurohime did which was absolutely pointless in the beginning then later becoming one of my favorite manga's) then i hope for this to succed. The art is simply gorgeous and the characters as well. it has a good basic idea that if the author can write a more in depth storyline i can see this becoming a popular and pretty great manga.

all in all, as of right now this manga is simply still a good read for a laugh or a chance to see some beautiful girls. the story is decent. atleast for now just give it a beginners welcome and read a bit

I like its easy story, yeah, I know it is comedy anyway, it should be easy, especially when Medaka's strong personality makes animals ran away....hahahaha....
