Nothing can get more perfect than this manga. I wasn't very interested in football but this changed me, of course, I only like ES21. This has taught me many things while reading it. One of them was that i wasnt bad at sports, its just that I've never tried and so gave up on it. Then there is the plot and the character that i love. This is the only manga that's not disappointing. Each and every week, i anticipate the next chapter. Truly this is the perfect manga, at least for me it is.

Although the moves are somewhat unrealistic because of the art, they are real and used in football. Glad to know a Mangaka who knows his stuff!

hahahahaha, this is one of the few manga that makes me laugh so hard. Funny story, great plot, hilarious character, etc, etc. And the weird part is.... I never liked any sports manga before.

Keep up the good work YA-HA......

A pretty good sport manga

at first, I didn't wanna give a chance for this manga.. cus I never like American Football and I thought this manga is gonna be all about tackling people, people got injured with broken bones, rinse and repeat..

boy was I wrong.. it had much more depth in it.. the mysterious Hiruma, weird jokes, cool storyline, and much more.. it's not really the best sport manga, but it is one of the best.. and even if you dunno a thing about american football, there are some guides available throughout the series, so you can still pretty much follow what's going on..

Great Sports Manga

About these supposed "magical moves". They're not magical at all, the mangaka exaggerated the art in the movements to create more appeal and give readers who aren't familiar with the sport a clear glimpse of some moves difficulty, because quite frankly in real life it would appear much easier. Basically...
Devil Bat Dive = A dive
Devil Backfire = A overhead catch
Devil Shotgun = A arm block
I won't go and explain the rest just because some of you are too dumb to realize the artist was dictating the difficulty of these moves through his art. I see nothing magical here. Not to mention this is a manga, like most forms of media things are exaggerated.

Anyway, the manga is great, even if you're not a fan of the sport(s) its easy to get into. The mangaka did a pretty good job considering American Football is only really common in America.

*Sidenote: Prince of Tennis started off with really fantasy moves very early, as with E21 which is pretty far along now as yet to create a single one. Everything introduced is something normal prettied-up. I don't doubt they'll introduce another special move, but I doubt it'll be anything out outrageous like a super 900 twirl devil catch (or PoTs boom-a-rang snake). Prince of Tennis wasn't bad though it had a fantasy element to it, if you want real tennis... watch real tennis...

yup i really enjoy this manga, even tho i was skeptical at first looking at this since i dont actually watch football on tv (i lose interest in it fast). so i as like hmmm... should i read it? so i was like ok i might as well, read it and i was like whoa! i really liked it, its weird with all of the moves tho i mean the mangaka wrote like 1 chapter worth about 1 second in the game, or it think it was .1 or .01 second, i dont remember but yah, i still liked it though

it gets repetitive and the jokes get stupid after awhile, so I dropped the series. Also, after going to countless football games, I prefer using the correct football terminology. The mangaka or the translator should have done a bit more research on American football.

If there's one reason you should read this manga, it's because of Hiruma. He's one of the most evil, hilarious characters I've ever come across and the stuff he comes up with is sheer genius. The rest of the manga is also really entertaining but I what Hiruma does for E21 is like what Takamura does for HnI
