A Great Manga.

Really, it's not often people see smart independant girls with attitude as the lead in shoujo manga. Maria's prone to speaking out rudely with whatever's on her mind since she seems to be able to read people very easily. Plus, it's cool that she's the 'subtle and intelligent, yet cold' type of person.

People also often misunderstand her actions and see her as the villain since she doesn't really know how to behave normally. This causes alot of trouble and comedic scenes between her and and the other characters.

What's better is that there's a possible triangle romance between her and 2 other hot guys, each with completely opposite personalities. All said, this is one of my most favourite shoujo manga (because of all, once I got into shounen-ai /yaoi, it became harder to enjoy shoujo like before bigrazz).

I've only read the first couple of chapters scanlated by serenus-dreamers and what struck out at me the most were how polarized the minor characters were (such as the side students and teachers). it felt really unrealistic to me because no one is that one-sided. almost everyone is marvelling at what an awesome kawaii maria is but I don't like her simply because I found her hard to relate to and unrealistic sometimes.

it was boring and exagerrated. anyways i read about 13 chapters and then dropped it.

I'd recommend this to those who hate the typical shoujo heroines cause kawaii maria is a complete 180 of those. this manga has all the same cliche plot devices that make us love and hate shoujo.

Beautiful Story

I wonder why all comment in this page really looks down on AtLS, this series is a great with such a beautiful character and story and development.
You've got to understand why there isn't such a pure friendship between all of your friends you've already known. This manga tells the story of a what you called "the truth is not always a happiness". The main character always tells what she really thinks about other people, and she isn't wear a mask like what we always think as goodness.
Even so, what disturb me the most is this seris' romance development, which kind of strange to me, kind of forcing the ideal of the main character with the 2 hot guys. Ok that's fine, besides the main char isn't a doormat kind. I like it when she make a confrontation against the teacher and all her friends. Really a strong female lead kind, and not in physically.

Just so me!

I fell in love with Maria right away. I feel like I am so much like her. Blunt and to the point. If you see someone's personality as faulty, you say so. I loved her! There were times where I wish she would be more blunt because so many people treat her like crap, but I can't hate her. She sees the hidden evil in people that most people wouldn't see. She tries to give people a chance, but when she does, she does it wholeheartedly even if it means Maria gets hurt.

This is not your average shoujo manga. I wish other heroines were like Maria! This one makes your blood boil and there are no cliches! Maria isn't the girl who wants to befriend a jerk because she's naive. No, she just deals!

well, i find it hard to believe that my taste to picking mangas i read is quite similar to other people. i find it hard to find a person with the same blend of likes in genres.

i don't normally comment unless i really like the manga. this manga have been torturing my brain for days.

it has got lots of reasons why. first, i'm dead jealous of the protagonist-being able to hit people with words that hurt most. i mean, i've been studying that for years already. second, i'm so confuse. usually, i put myself as the protagonist... but hell what? my perceptions don't coincide with Maria at all! i keep asking 'wow! how could she think it that way and i dont?' i'm not sure if it's the translations or the mangaka itself - for having such remarkable philosophy that i still can't comprehend well.or it could be the language gap. english is not my first language anyway.

with these, i'd salute it for being a good shoujo. kinda unpredictable and strong heroine. i really adore strong women.

ONE OF THE BESTS! my assurance. to the positive comments, i owe you for giving the trigger to read this promising manga.

P.S. i think i'm just too uneasy. i feel like a loser to be thinking just like the bullies in the manga. they all think and act like losers. unfortunately, i think like them too. i need to be really really really broad-minded this time. thanks for the wake-up call of this manga and to the mangaka and scanlators.

"lovely" transformation

Well, this is a totally different shoujo manga. The heroine is not the typical crybaby, quite the opposite in fact. Maria is an honest person, she always says what she's thinking and doesn't have tact whatsoever. Basically, she does not put the mask everyone else in society wears so as to live "comfortable", so whenever she tells people the reasons for their actions, they feel as if she actually sees through them and they get irritated.
As for the love triangle..well, not much to say. For now, that's not the main focus of the story and I hope it'll stay like that. The two boys have much more to their personalities than what we can see on the surface, so I expect a really good character development.
I truly recommend this manga to whoever wants a "different" shoujo.

The heroine is different from the typical shoujo heroines which is great! She is some sorta person that you'll hate if you cannot understand what's in her mind which probably can relate to many of you, the readers. I love the story and I only need another chapter of this to crown the series as one of my top manga of all time biggrin Definitely recommend it for everyone. Besides, the art is also great

update: too much drama sad I downgrade it

I can't wait to see this develop. This first chapter makes me wonder, what's in her past? What did the teacher do to her? While Yuusuke is easy to figure out, Shin was harder too. Till Maria exposes his true motives. I eagerly await the plot development.
