I just found this manga today and thought "why not give it a try?". Once I started, I just couldn't stop reading it.
I liked the reactions of the characters as well as the lessons it teaches. The last chapter just made me cry.
Even though the story was meant to be about the love of the step siblings, I would have preferred her to stay with the sensei. I think he played a really important role throughout the story, and that relationship seemed much more real. The teacher fell for her, and so did her; I was truly wishing for the story to make a turn and have her choose the sensei instead of Natsu.
Anyways, I'm giving it a 10 because I just loved the story, even though I was hoping for a different end.

Even though the synopsis is not that realistic, the realization and the flow of the story was indeed something that would make me wonder how I would react if I were in the characters position. I like the character development and the process they go through to come to certain conclusions because is somewhat realistic.
As far as the the story goes I think it would have been refreshing to see the heroine ending not with the seemingly hero of the story. I personally would've liked it better if she ended with the sensei. And if you think about it the teacher played a bigger role than Natsu.
In any case the wide range of feelings that blend through the story are what life is about, which also happens to be the main theme of this manga, along with romance of course (^o^).
Oh well nice art, nice characters, nice story, lots of drama and emotions what else can I ask. Just give it a try.

This is the manga that made me cry....
I loved the story though I'm quite sad for the teacher who loved her but I want her to end up with her love because they seem too pitiful to bottle up their true emotions for each other... I mean they love each other soo much that it really shows but they can let it show because of breaking the family... well I like the ending soo nice though I also would like if she chose the teacher hehehe ^-^

The story felt really obvious already at the beginning. And as AvatarofBelle said, the characters reactions were often rather illogical. And sometimes rather odd and contradicting. The overall pace was a bit odd as well, felt a bit rushed or saturated. Everything is happening all at once but no one seems to really respond to it. Feels a bit.. empty.. Overall it's a pretty nice read though, but gives a kinda.. odd feeling.. almost unsatisfied.
AWSOME ENDING

It took me a while to get through this story, but I'm glad I did. It was a real read like a book. Real character development, strong relationships, deep story; stuff actually happened. It's very different from most things I've read, I'd like to think.
As for the story, it really goes to a different level somewhat analyzing the psychological aspects of Kajitsu (heh, I might be reading too deep into this). But a lot of her issues come into play with this, and how she deals with them. The characters were realistic, and so were their relationships. I'm glad it ended the way it did. Nice and warm, and thoroughly explained. This is quite the drama.

This was a lot of fun to read. I thoroughly enjoyed the style and pacing. It had an assortment of comedy (from off-the-wall to slapstick to random), low angst that still hit some nice dramatic high notes, and best of all, great characters.
The character development and the flow of the story is what kept me in. Kaijitsu's growth was quite enjoyable to watch. The story flowed well going from character to character while keeping Kaijitsu in the middle of it all. In that aspect, it kinda reminded me of series' like Kare Kano, where the story isn't just about one or two characters.
Ah, I also enjoyed the more mature approach to the relationships. This is definitely Shoujo but it didn't have as much of that "Shoujo fluff" for relationships. That was a treat.
Additionally, the side stories had lots of love when they were building up but most of them got closed off too quickly. It's as if Mizuki Shioko ran out of time and had to suddenly finish things off.
Though I have complaints, as a whole, I really enjoyed this series. It was a relatively light read with fun characters. Definitely worth checking out.

With all that said, I have complaints with the last couple volumes. As was noted by someone below, the story regressed towards the end. Things changed a bit in the story, especially regarding Natsu. Kaijitsu's growth was exciting to read but Natsu evolved into something a bit different than expected. This leads in to how I feel the ending was a bit cheesy.
