that's the feeling i get from this manga. i dont know wether its the translation or the way it is, the words somehow not flowing and a bit awkward. sometimes i dont understand what they are saying. probably japanese will understand more about the unuttered words and subtle gestures? the actions and motivations are also vague, i dont understand how a bad guy can be a good guy in one turn of a page. the characters also look the same, even differing hair length is not enough. especially zen, his feature is just too common.

that said, i dont dislike this manga. even through its awkwardness there's a certain peaceful quality in it that make me keep reading. and i like snow white, she is a good character with good sense of self. her romance with zen is very sweet since its such a straightforward affair, i hate typical ones where there's misunderstandings, complications and drama. their love is very refreshing in their handling of it like two mature, rational adults. i'm looking forward to new developments.

The female lead is strong and smart not like the others in typical shoujo mangas... The art is PERFECT!!! I love it biggrin wow, the one who drew this is extremely talented!! The other characters are also -not typical shoujo characters- smile it really is a nice and amazing story...
But i wonder why i could not get into it... I kept reading but... No use, i still had to skip chapters... I guess i continue reading it because of its art...
Oh well, i guess i can give it 7/10 or 8/10
Its recommended to people who like calm and peaceful stories (i am not really into these kind of stories anyway... i am into shounen and horror even though i am a girl...i read it because of the ratings...Maybe that's why i am not into this story..)

Stop defending cliches already, geez!

Eh. I couldn't get into this one because of how cliched it was and Shirayuki struck me as a super-genius-and-everyone-loves-her Mary Sue, personally. I could only get through a few chapters before I got bored and dropped it.

(And the whining about "well all manga are cliched!!!!" is the stupidest thing I've ever heard and is not a valid defence for flawed writing. If you think the author uses these cliches well, then you need to read more. A lot more.)

Don't underestimate it

The first few chapters may strike people as boring and cliche, but the story is far from it. Despite the cliche premises and that the heroine is not a strong fighter, she's strong in the the sense that she has the courage and strength to climb up for her goal without asking for anyone's help. Normally we would see the guy bending down and helping the girl to reach his level, but not for this girl. My favourite thing about her is the fact that she refuses to let herself be his weakness and she will work to be his strength rather than be a damsel in distress.
This may not strike people as interesting as for some to be not as exciting and passionate as some other manga, but its calmness and subtly is a welcome relief from other dramatic plot lines.

I Really Like This Story c:

The art is fantastic!

AND I AGREE WITH Mo-chan ON THE CLICHES

Seriously, stop whining xD. Cliches are just events that occurs in stories a lot! They are popular story ideas! It's how authors use those " cliches" that makes the story good or bad!! Akizuki Sorata uses them well c:.

This story is a bit laid back. (NOT BAD WAY, KEEP READING -->)Like, it's not taking place in a war scene, or anything, and the main lead (WHO I ADORE) is a calm person, and you get that vibe in the story. C: BUT IT IS AN AMAZING PLOT.
I love it. xD I'm reading another manga I love about a red-head girl who is an outcast (Reimei no Arcana). They both have strong characters, who even though they're different, they somehow do resemble eachother (not just the red hair factor).

Anyway, why I love this manga:
*Good characters (some people do seem "shallow", but I mean, the story isn't about the side characters! Seriously!)
*GREAT ART (I love just looking at pages *u* It's really pretty<3)
*The Plot (I love the idea of a strong girl out facing the world c: Plus the romance makes it nice<33xD)
*EVERYTHING ELSE...(...you can think of. c: I really don't think there are any faults with this manga, besides the fact it's a calm vibe. But that isn't a problem at all! I like it, its very unique biggrin )

Read this manga! It's cute, adventurous, funny, and a great read! C: I'm so happy a new scan just came out 2 days ago!<3333 I'm off to read it now!! >;P

Beautiful, but not very exciting...

First of all, the art is fantastic. The quality and amount of details on every page is just impressive. It's definitely a work of art. I also liked all the characters. The female lead is farm from a pathetic crybaby (much love to strong female leads), the male lead a sweet and well developed (not a one dimensional idol), and they're really just very cute together. and for whatever reason I'm a huge fan of the spy obi. haha In fact I don't think there was really a character I disliked. Even the story itself isn't bad.

However despite fantastic artwork, and good characters...I find myself bored. I think it just lacks some drama or major conflict. Yes, it has that, but I'm never really drawn in to the point that I HAVE to find out what happens next. It's more of a story that just sort of floats along peacefully, and even when conflicts arise you no nothing bad is truly going to happen from the start. It's like a fairytale kind of.

If you're looking for a pretty, peaceful love story, I'd definitely check this out. However I kinda got bored after a while and dropped it at about chapter 18....

Aside from the cliches everyone points out i mean really if thats all then you should just stop reading manga you will find at least one cliche in all of them = n =

The art: It is simply amazing~ its simple and clean they style is very relaxing and the designs! TTUTT SO GOOD. The mangaka is also one of my favorites.
The story: Actually this is a very original plot, it keeps me guessing as to what happens to them next. And the theme goes so well with everything. No it doesnt have the big evil plot, no it doesnt have insane rivalry, and no it doesnt have heartbreaking moments, but what you'll find is how the characters develop throughout the story. The story flow and romance are very well played too~
The characters: I LOVE THEM ALL. Our heroine is a strong girl and i love it i hate the weak typical shoujo heroine who waits for the hero to rescue her, instead the heroine is very strong as well as the hero both beside each other as the story progresses we watch as their feelings grow, as well as trying to find who they are. Even our secondary characters make big impacts. They humor, the personality, and the design of each one are very original.

This is my favorite manga i've read it so many times and i dont get bored of it, its a fun light read~

The one flaw
by nroejb

I am no shoujo fan, but I realy love this one.
The interplay of the art, the plot, the storytelling pace and the character development, is one the best I've ever seen in a manga.
Everything fits so well that I would give this series the label "art" that seems to be so sought after recently.
So far there was however one flaw, it almost made me stop reading, just as it did stop others (as to see in comments here and on other sites).
This flaw is the unlucky choise to have two situations in which the prince has to rescue the girl come across in the first two chapters.
Many non shoujo readers, like me, have little patience for damsels in distress, especially as protagonists, and I would have stopped reading if it wasn't for the pacing and artwork.
In my opinion all reviews should warn the readers qabout this awkward part off the first chapters and inform them that in later chapters the protagonist is as far from a distress damsel as a non combatant can possible be.
Edit:
Many reviews say that they started liking it after 7th chapter.
While that might be true for them, I would advice you not to trust the same to be happening to you.
The pacing and characterisation doesn't really change, in fact I have the suspicion, that most people who wrote this just needed time to get used to the unusual, rather slow pacing.
Anyway for people used to slow pace, which in my point of views make for the best stories by far, this shouldn't have the 7th chapter effect, for others, it might really need some 7ish cahpters to get in to.

<3 Charming art, amazing pacing even against its more slice-of-life-ish genre, and - most importantly - genuinely likeable characters. I'm amazed that none of them have been irksome or exaggerated; one might even call them mild and insightful. Finally, a mangaka that knows how to craft a great story without treating the audience like dumbasses. Check out her other works; they're great as well!

the art... THE AAAART!

and yeah, the story. what i like best about this manga is that there are no stupid characters. the story is sweet, even if there are some cliches here and there. shirayuki is an awesome character that inspires me to do my best. she's just awesome awesome.

i just wonder how the plot's going to move especially with the new plot devices being introduced. you can see cliches coming up.

but meh, as of now, the art and shirayuki are enough to keep me reading.

recommended if you're looking for something sweet, pretty, and smarter than your usual stupid shoujo.
