Description
From Viz media:

Timid and self-conscious high-school student Karin never paid much attention to boys until she met Kiriya, a popular student from a nearby boys' school. Karin and Kiriya embark on a romantic journey despite Karin's classmate Yuka's best efforts to sabotage their relationship, but Karin soon learns that living happily ever after isn't on the curriculum when she becomes Kiriya's center of attention, as well as embittered Yuka's bull's-eye on her dartboard of hate.

very lovely art, innocent love aww youth!!!
I didn't connect much with the main character...she was too insecure in her own abilities although it was fun on how the character could never understand one another lol. Some couples are like that...
but I personally like Nanri, she's more my liking...bold.

Plain... it's good when you don't have anything else to read, but after a few books I just lost the interest. I did finish it however, and the ending was... sweet, true to it's genre.

Uncreative story, but not bad for a shoujo manga.

The storyline was great. But eventually, it got a little draggy and long. The art was good though. Must read when there's extra time on hand!

well, at firts the annoying rival/fake best friend girl reminded me of a mix between Sae from 'Peach Girl' and Harumi from 'Mars'. Then just when this mean character went out of the picture... the author decided to turn the main couple - both personalities and dynamics-wise - into a closer and closer clone of Rei Kashino and Kira Aso from 'Mars' ( by Fuyumi Souryo). But the result it's not nearly as good in quality as the original is, sadly.
If you have not read Mars, you may still enjoy this for the pleasant art though. But my suggestion is to go for Souryo's title and savour the difference.

I do agree that this is type of storyline is very typical and its been done before. [predictable]. But I do like these types of manga. Even though there isn't a unique thing about the manga. Since I have only read 2 volumes I can't really judge it completely. So far the storyline is okay. I do agree that the characters just liked each other right in the beginning. It is fast. and unrealistic.. to me. I like the artwork very much.

I'll give it an 8.

Six is all you get!

Hmm, seems like this manga is too familiar. Nope, wait... it is. It's basically your cliche romance shoujo. The story seems completely ripped from another manga I've read prior, besides all the drama and impact from the other manga. The mangaka really wasn't nearly unique when it comes to this manga.

I give it a six because the art is lovely, and I'd say that's about all.

This manga has been incredibly cute so far! The artwork is so-so but the plot is good, very basic and a typical shoujo manga, but still you can't wait to see what happens next biggrin

"typical and predictable storyline. worst of all it tends to drag a lot."

I second this statement. Kare First Love is too shallow, imo. It's too fast. Things just happen, just like that, and I go "Wha--?" The characters aren't three-dimensional enough to be considered real people. Sure, other people in other manga may have super-clutzes and very unlucky people and stuff, but this type of melodrama isn't able to project the right things at the right times.
