Description
Shinichi Kudo is a high-school student who, by using observation and deduction, is good at solving mysteries. While investigating one, he is caught by the criminals that he was watching and forced to take an experimental drug. Leaving him for dead, the criminals disappear. Instead of killing him, however, the drug turns Shinichi into a little kid.

it starts real well
the cases are challenging and the art is good
however, too bad this is shounen manga - too few tragic moment, too much fillers and too many repetitive cases.
it's still a good read when you're bored though.
if it was a seinen manga with more tragic love drama and less kiddie stuff it'd be perfect.
its movies are good though
I especially love the one with all the cards - shooting your lover to save her.
the one took place on the aphrodite ship wasn't too bad either - it was really touching in the later half.
but the author really should have made shinichi being a little kid an arc instead of dragging out this long.

I think Conan should have grown up even without an antidote by now...
The single cases are nice (though too overcomplicated to be believable), but the series in whole became boring long ago.
The comedy is way overused, and the mysteries behind the crimes are repetitive.

Conan used to be interesting, but it has been running for far too long! I mean, 626 chapters? Come on! I had been reading this series since I was in 3rd or 4th grade, I'm 17 now. The cases aren't believable anymore, and much of them are recycled for the gazillionth time from the older cases (which were awesome, but now they're old). There are just too many fillers now and too little of the main plot. I'd rather have Shinichi killed off already!

it's good, original at the time it was released but the best thing about it is the Main plot, it's simply Awesome! as for the downside, it's very very very...etc SLOW!!!! but i just read somewhere that the Mangaka hinted that it's ending soon X) i really want to see the end....>.>;;; it just got to 60 volumes...What i'm advices to anyone who like this series is to simply read the first 10-15 books and Skip to the last 10-15 books ^^

Its realy depressing that after what? maybe 10 years this manga has not ended.
it was GREAT when it fist started and i LOVED it! but it went on too long, i usualy have no problems with long series but detective conan is just repetitive - they should have finished it ages ago as they seem to reuse the same methods of killing again and again.
Someone above said inuyasha was just as bad as this but it ain't - inuyasha had plot proggresss!
if your looking for a grat open and shut story - don't pick this you'll die before it ends!

By far, this is the BEST detective series I've read. The cases are all complex and interesting, surely challenges the minds of both the mangaka and the readers (: Even though it was a bit slow around the 40's, the plot has definitely picked up in the recent chapters ^_^ Never the least, I LOVE THIS MANGA! Great work Aoyama Gosho-san! x3
It's definitely one of the best manga I've ever read. The cases are mostly simple, unlike Kindaichi, but the way it were solved is what makes me excited. And the fact that there's a primary enemy, the Black Organization, is another thrilling part. Well, the most thrilling part, actually.
I don't know when it will end, since the main story progress so slow. But I think Aoyama Gosho already figured how to end the story. He just doesn't want to do it yet. And I guess same goes with me ^_^

i got tire after finishing 500 chapter in 1 week lol >< i need a break from this but it really really good not too confusing lots of fun twist and turn ,the main plot is develop too slow lol
now here's a manga that challenges the intellect. A modern Sherlock Holmes. Don't underestimate the complexity of the plot, the case can be very difficult to solve, even for detective fans.

so what if the story does evolve as fast as normal mangas.... this is a detective manga so it should focus on mysteries... anyone can make a decent story manga... the cases are what makes this series
