Description
Kagome is a modern Japanese high-school girl. Never the type to believe in myths and legends, her world view dramatically changes when, one day, she's pulled out of her own time and into another! There, in Japan's ancient past, Kagome discovers more than a few of those dusty old legends are true, and that her destiny is linked to one legendary creature in particular--the dog-like half-demon called Inuyasha! That same trick of fate also ties them both to the Shikon Jewel, or "Jewel of Four Souls." But demons beware...the smallest shard of the Shikon Jewel can give the user unimaginable power...

This manga had real promise but you can only drag the storyline out for soooooooo long. I hate it now!! I just want it to end I'm tired of waiting for the story to get somewhere and to kill Naraku and for everyone to live happily ever after but no! The mangaka just wants to go on and on and on and now the only reason I'm still reading it? JUST SO I CAN KNOW HOW IT FREAKIN' ENDS. I'm sure I'll know in about 7 years 22 minutes and 3 seconds but hey?? Who's counting?

I would have read this, but there are just too many chapters, and the plot got kind of repetitive.

Holy crap, it's still not over? o_O I stopped reading this ages ago, and I just randomly saw this in the releases page, and seriously, whoa. 512 chapters is the longest I've ever seen a manga.

Another series that I'd love if it weren't so long. The characters that have been there since the beginning show very little character development since around volumes 10-15. The story moves towards an ending at an excruciatingly slow pace, although it seems as if the story could possibly end in the next hundred chapters or less. If you have a lot of patience for drawn out and repetitious drama and fight scenes, then this series is an okay read.
i love it, but

i just love this manga, i love the characters BUT, it`s getting annoying how after 50 chapters they can`t defeat naraku.
Good, but I can't keep up with it anymore.

When I first started reading this manga, I enjoy it very much. The plot and characters were good. My interest went down by volume 14. I couldn't keep reading this manga. It's too long of a series to keep reading, collecting books and nothing didn't catch my interest by then.
I enjoy most of Takahashi's works, but her past series, Ranma 1/2, Mermaid Saga, and Lum is better than Inu-Yasha. I got hooked on Ranma 1/2 and Meramid Saga so much. In a way,I would like to see her work on a new manga series similar to her past series.

Come on now! Is it not about time to end this charade. Inuyasha is getting alil too long for many people's taste, and that includes mine.
Long manga isn't bad, take Naruto, One Piece, Bleach, Prince of Tennis, Gantz for example. Long manga may be the most preferable hits for us fans! But the thing is Inuyasha just don't have the chemistry to stay in for much longer. Lets face it, it's the same thing in and out in and out and yet again! in and out! The same routine over and over again really screams to END!
I used to adore Inuyasha, now i just feel that it's not even worth rating. Sure, it's still good to watch or read, but where's the chemistry??!! I tell you where, disappeared among the many chapters and volumes of this. Ranma was better, a true classic. Maison Ikkoku also written down tear jerking history for the fans. Beautiful Dreamer? so-so. The fact is Rumiko Takahashi's habit of taking a manga too long and too far really should stop here for Inuyasha!
If she end the manga now Inuyasha used-to-be fans will return and check out the inale! This includes myself as well. Inuyasha will undoubtfully cause a huge racket of success online for quite some time. That is, IF it end now (within a couple more volumes). If it goes any longer then even i would have to surrender and give up on this manga piece.

When I began reading this manga, it seemed like it had a good plot, amusing characters, and well-balanced fight sequences.
Unfortunately, however, these qualities soon began to decompose as the series wore on. Miroku, the character relied on for comedic relief, just grew more annoying as his actions became easily anticipated, and the love-triangle between Inuyasha, Kagome, and Kikyo just grew out of control and tedious. The worst part, however, was the fact that the plot completely disappeared. It's gone from the Shikon shards to Naraku, and while the Shikon shards remain in the background, Naraku's presence in the series just washes out the shards altogether. To make it more annoying, Naraku seems almost immortal, making the length of the series grow exponentially. When you add the fact that characters are suddenly thrown into the mix from every direction, you're left with a boring, drawn-out, and tedious manga that is painful to read.

I watched the anime first and the "end" was horrible. But something funny was that the subtitled last episode the characters said:
"we will continue to fight till the END" (to defeat naraku, i dont remember the exact lines but it was something like that). And then in the screen appears "THE END".
LOL
Havent read more than a couple of chapters of the manga, but i will update my rating once a read a couple hundred more.
