i loved this story! but it would have been better if it didnt have kurami getting raped like every five seconds lol.....
somehow i think the ending kind of fits...since there is no other way to end this story...and like mono1 said, it seemed like it was rushed..
however...it made me REALLY sad!

Disgusted x.x

im not just saying this cause its smut, cause personally i couldnt care less. what disgusts me is the guy has got a sick and twisted mind, and the girl, who is a complete RETARD keeps fawning over him -.-"
she gets ripped away from her sick mother (who is in need of hospitalization), and her young twin brothers, yet after the first couple chapters, she has completely forgotten about her family and never mentions them again.
then she watches him shoot a girl dead in the middle of the library, gets raped for 3 days straight, yet still fawns over him o.o
and ya its yakuza/mafia, but the girls reaction is just weird considering how weak she is o.0

Love it or Hate it....

Let's face it: you are either going to love this manga, or hate it.
I was someone who happened to really enjoy Haou Airen. I like dark romances, and scary psycho mafia leaders.....
Other people will hate this manga, because the heroine of the story is somewhat weak-minded and helpless.
I would recommend this to anyone who wants to read a dark romance with a bit of smut.

A warning though, like all Mayu Shinjo's, this does contain "Consensual rape." Whatever that is. (How can rape be consensual....??!?!)

The plot was loose and the storyline trumbled like kurumi's body when Hakuron touched her.

The hole story was based only on raping her and treating her like CRAP!!! c'mon at the very end it was even worst after all the obstacles they faced they had a creepy silly and cold ending. before the last 8 pages i gave the benefit of the doubt to tthe plot, but mayu at the very end dessapointed me!!!!!!!

i loved the love story between hakuron and kurumi, although i would have liked kurumi to be raped a little less...... Anyway, i'd have to disagree and say that i liked the plot for the most part. Though, I probably wouldn't have read it if i knew the ending was going to be so damn depressing.

Gods... why did I put myself through this again?

I'd dropped this title a long time ago and decided to try reading this again, despite Shinjo Mayu's annoying storytelling traits. Bleah... well, the saving grace is the art but the story itself is boring and bland. And it's completely full of nothing but sex, smut and useless bitching between women and men.

Seriously... why did I put myself through the agony of trying to read this title again? The plot devices are nothing special and neither is the storytelling. In fact, everything reads like 1 big cliched fest from a C-class movie. I don't mind cliches or sex but the storytelling makes everything like soured milk.

Star-crossed lovers

If it hadn't been for that horrible ending, I would say that this is probably one of my favorite mangas. However, I thought how that the heroine forgot her family so quickly was pretty wrong. She is also too quick to confess her love for a guy she just met. Despite all that, the drawings were pretty good and Karumi is really cute.

It was only after I finished reading the entire manga online that I noticed this was supposed to be a tragedy. I kind of wish I had seen that before because I probably wouldn't have started reading it. I absolutely hate sad endings. But I suppose its the author's way of saying that their love is eternal, and will remain as pure and untouchable. A kind of love unattainable by anyone else, I guess. The fact that he died still pisses me off regardless though. I wish Mayu Shinjo would write another series bringing him back to life through some weird, inexplainable way and making it a happy ending, since they really are a beautiful couple. That's just wishful thinking though since its supposed to be a tragedy anyway.

And that's terrible.

It started off just as a bad manga. But that's okay, I like bad mangas.

Then it stopped being bad. It became offensive. I felt angry when I read it. He raped her. No two goddamn ways about it, he raped her. Repeatedly. And the fact that the manga tries to excuse it with "oh no, she wanted it" is just sick.
Spoiler (highlight to view)
This is really the worst manga I have ever read.

EDIT: Now with bonus spoilers. I laughed myself sick at the end. Hakuron got just what he deserved. She should have hooked up with Foiron. At least he loved her and didn't feel the need to express it through abuse and rape.

it was a nice manga. i loved it from da begining, in some way it was annoying. i read the summary and genre so i knew it was gonna end badly. so throughout da whole series i kept on thinkin dat sumones gonna die but as it goes to da end, it seemed like it was a happily ever after. it was pretty messed up in some ways, made me sad.
