At first I thought this would be very unique, but it turned out to be similar to FMA in its tone and atmosphere. Only it doesn't have some of the deep pain that FMA did, and as such it lacks real depth... It's just one "mission" after another, without being as dark or as thought-provoking as it could be. The idea of Innocence being a weapon is really damn cool, and I can't help feeling that the mangaka could've made better use of it...

Then again, that's just me. If you're looking for a decent action manga to get into, then this will work great for you. However, if you're looking for something really brilliant and original... This is not it.

Best of the 4 Shounen

I believe this one is the best of the 4 main Shounen Jump mangas (D-Gray Man, Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece), maybe not main but most well-known. This one I believe personally has the best artwork hands down. Also it seems to fit slightly less into the cliche Shounen concept where the characters comes through in the end and wins the battle by getting something instantly. While this does do that, it doesn't do it to the extent of the other 3. Also the story is very dark and gothic which I love, it just seems to suck you in, its an excellent read overall.

This manga is by far one of the best. Sure, the story is somewhat lacking because their isnt anything deep, mostly missions which are cool. But once it gets to the Noah's Arc Arc, it is so intense because everything is coming together and some big time battles. It's really worth reading!

This is probably one of my favorites. The art is good. The characters are all interesting and are not generic. The gothic tone sets the series apart from other mangas. Although, as far as I've gotten, there isn't that much of a solid plot, just a series of missions, I assume it will get more of a plot later on in the series. A good read for SJ fans.

At first place, the art direction is really good and very interesting that remind you to Tim Burton's,but after a few vol. it's different.
The story is rather fun but has nothing new,all manga doubt about good and evil now a day,I mean. The charactor design is good but only for some charactors. The picture (not art direction) is acceptable but you can find this style easily from another manga artists.
So it's ok if you don't think much, you can enjoy reading it.But,as I told,it's just almost good.

in terms of artwork and character design, it has a sort of gothic tone and style to it, so i'll give that a for the storyline, it has a number of mysteries that you'd really want some answers, but unfortunately, there's nothing epic at an overall point of view. i can't help but feel that most of the time is mainly spent on fights. nevertheless, its word a read.
