Too much info

Without question this is one of the better mangas out there to read, enough said. Only annoyance is the authors need of over complacating everything. Almost any explanation of something has just too much information. Not that its done and thought out well, but alot of the info isnt nessarcy for the reader to know in such detail. After all its a manga not a novel. Otherwise though good stuff

To hell! They killed xxxspoilerxxx!!
Well, other than that, it's a gem disguised in the form of scrap. It's a thin line between the two, and honestly had me fooled.
Art's horrible... but reading it it's not that I think it's unreadable either. Not horrible to a point of no return. I prefer anime though... 2011 ver.
The plot is like I said, well disguised. I thought the Greed Island arc will become it's complete downfall, with the strength scale totally ruined. The impressions that they gave us since the front was completely overthrown. Basically, a breakdown in logic.
The Greed Island arc was horrible, the Chimera picked it back up. There's one problem to that... they killed chars, ones I love. And moreover... in a way I just can't help but accept... No, it's not that it means I want them dead, it's just it doesn't even leave room for my wild imagination to fill in and replace the plot. Yes, I do that all the time, rewrite the whole thing, insert chars, revive the dead, add a sequel... of course, all in my head, it's for satisfaction, nothing else. Ah correction! I make myself dream about it lol, during sleep. Yes I'm weird. So it means if I myself get convinced that it is THE plot, the real one, there's no room for alternation... even subconsciously. Back to track, the Chimera arc fixed the power scale, on a delicate balance. It would end up meaning everything before was leading up to this point. Like I said, hidden gem disguised. However, it's a matter of interpretation. I loved that arc (at the same time hating it), so I let all the holes slide, since they can be explained if you think about them in another view. I'll leave the rest to imagination.
Well... other than that, there's too many hiatuses! Too often!! I remember reading the other time long before I started reading, some forum complaining on the looonnng~ hiatus. Which apparently is still going on (I think). I surely am not the only one who has major complaints?
Did I mention I (hate) dislike Gon? I love Killua and Kurapica, and the enemy bosses who I don't wanna spoil. But that Gon... I'm not good with that type, and they piss me off, to the guts, but I don't have a clear reason to hate him either, but I still do, and yet he's a bit of a hybrid, and yet I don't like him, but I can convince myself to... well basically that's the story.

It was so good and all, until the author took forever to finish his hiatus. I just wanted to say, "I'm sorry, but are you still alive? THEN MOVE YOUR A$$ AND GET IT DONE!" I mean, just what the hell is he doing at home? I'm starting to getting furious right now!
I agree...

... with those who say Hunter x Hunter has become worse and worse since the Chimera Ant Arc. I loved Hunter x Hunter during the introduction of the illusionists, and Greed Island was also still interesting. Now I've got the feeling the mangaka doesn't care anymore and just wants to continue anyhow. I mean, there was this huge hiatus and the period where his drawings were so... crappy... now he's back to work but it doesn't look much better and I'm talking about both his drawings and the storyline. I hope it'll get better eventually =/
hmm what to say of this
the premise is very good; but the artwork (even in his better periods) is quite below par... Fine if you dont care about that, but art is a factor I value very much in a manga; or else Id be reading books
so its a shame that the drawings kind of ruin the experience, and potential this has

Contrary to popular thoughts, there is an argument going on with SJ over this series. So expect this to either be continued by Weekly shonen Jump, or another Publisher if SJ does cancel it. But during the "crappy" art you are talking about, the reason the" takobon"?" is different from the magazine release is because he continued to draw those AS he was recovering from something like a stroke/heart attack. So like during a physical therapeutic treatments. Then he later Redid them for the Books. But then again i have no excuse for the bug arc. it is sad.

Interesting manga for anyone who love adventure. At first the story was really good with it's unique, yet adorable character. however right now, it seem to be off track with the chimera arc. It like watching dragonball Z now. As well, the plot isn't really advancing with Gon looking for his father at all. No improvement on plot developement. Sooner or later, I think it will be like extended filler that is sidetracking the writer from staying on course. Can't give it a 10 unless the plot advance. the whole chimera arc is rediculous as well.

This manga starts off interesting. The story is unique and there are a lot of characters. It's a great manga to read if you're bored, at first...
As soon as you get to the Greed Island Arc (maybe around volume 15?), the story starts to DRAG on like there is no end. It seems like it's a filler arc. I kept reading just to see the result and man was I disappointed.
Then next came the Chimera Ant Arc, and it just ruined the manga. It has absolutely no relation to the main story. It's even more dragging than Greed Island! What's worse is that the ART COMPLETELY CHANGES. I'm not sure if the mangaka switched or he had some problems, but the art is ridculous. It's almost to the point where stick figures would be better.
I RECOMMEND, you read this manga ONLY until they enter Greed Island. If you read any further than that, you will be wasting your time and be sadly disappointed. Your outlook on this manga will be ruined if you read any further than that. If you don't believe me, just read the MU forums and see for yourself.

Plot: 7/10
Every arc feels like separate manga jammed together! The series don't know its direction. That being said, each major arc is thought out and well planned.
Art: 6/10
Very inconsistent art. It's great when the author cares (he doesn't care 75% of the time). I still gave it an above average score for the impressive character design.
Characters: 7.5/10
Some characters can be cliche at times but so is every shonen manga. HxH's characters do grow on you throughout the series.
Enjoyment: 7.5/10
I have a love-hate relationship with the series. I like Ant Chimera arc. Contrary to most, I hate Greed Island, feeling like a video game plot.
Overall: 7/10

I loooved the manga up until the arc about the monster things...I think it would've been better if the manga went in another direction but...yeah. The "King" looked so alike with one of the villians from Dragon Ball, he even had the tail o_o
