i was just wondering...how many people besides my parents believes in unconditional love?? and how many people beside me doesnt believe in unconditional love...

i dont really like the idea of giving your love and time <or perhaps even money> to a person who doesnt give a shit or cant give you something in return!!! i just cant swallow the idea...thats the main reason that there are hardcore emos out there...

I don't really take any sides about it, if you mean it being unconditional all the time, I think it might be impossible, or there should be something wrong with that person. Still unconditional acts from time to time aren't that unusual, even coming from people you wouldn't expect it from at all.

Reality isn't that polarized, most of it is in between. laugh

I don't.
I do believe love is something to be earned.

A friend of mine and myself were having this argument once, about mothers loving their children even if they turn out to be murders and the like...
I was against such blind love, and still am.

lol
"Hardcore emos"? What do they have to do with anything? laugh

well...

they usually are people who are overly obsessed with people who cant love them back and then because of that...they will become really frustrated and try different ways that will "look" like theyre killing themselves but its all just for show!! laugh

and they still love that peson and doesnt even give any effort to get on with their life!!!

Let me just quote Friedrich Nietzsche here:

"Digressions, objections, delight in mockery, and carefree mistrust are signs of health. Everything unconditional belongs in pathology"

Makes sense when you think about it... I mean, there's a reason why you love someone... In everything in this world, there's a reason for everything, and nothing happens without due reason...

I do, but only between parent and child. However, that isn't for all, just most. I know people who hate their kids or parents, or both.

For the case of parent and child, and family, it can exist. Elsewhere.... eh? I highly doubt it. How many murderers have you heard of that were defended by their family even when they were guilty?

Unconditional Love...maybe in family, but not all the time. (Kind of like mine...)

Meh, people will love whoever they want, no matter how stupid it is.

It's always conditional.
Even if the only condition is being blood related.

Unconditional love is rare. My mother loves me unconditionally. I count myself as very fortunate. We aren't all monsters in this world. "All lawyers were children once". Unconditional love........it's a very rare and fortunate thing to have in this world.

Sometimes you just love something or someone because it is what it is, not because it can do anything for you. But that's something that's easier to understand as you age. When you're young (and I was no exception) you need so much that it's hard to image not being that way.
