This thread pertains to the later chapters of OnM.

Anyway, with the latest revelations I am pretty pissed.

Quasi-inscest/Age disparity aside, prospective heroine #1, Taeko, seems to have been effectively and suddenly removed as a candidate for Kouta's affection.

It would be one thing if Taeko were a lesser, secondary/tertiary character; I would not be having this rage-post. Instead, she was dangled in front of Kouta, and all for naught.

Let's consider the setup. Taeko's unintentional lead on's are probably permissable. Although Tae's mother implicates Kouta has quite an obstacle to overcome for Tae's love. Sousuke's situation is akin to the previous. He jack-assedly leaves glimmers of hope for Kouta, prior to his flashback explanation.

Now there's only so much room for things to be misconstrued. Why Sousuke did not clarify Kouta's hopelessness earlier, I don't know. Rather than a viable part of the storyline, it seems like underhanded/cheap struggle for poignance.

Kouta's happiness -> An expendable resource. Everyone and their mother (No pun intended), is officially out to screw over Kouta.

Are you (the reader) mind-blown? Angry? Speechless? Maybe you like the latest developments. Anyway, discuss here.

Truly, the author really seems to hate the protagonist. This chapter just left me speechless and mindblown. From now on it seems kouta's fate is to sink deeper and deeper in despair. no

I for one hope that he gets some sort of happy events in the coming chapters, but i wouldn't bet on it. sad

I really don't know whats wrong with Kanua's Mother she seems so mysterious ¬.¬
I personally read it because it was funny and interesting but that last 5 chapters were a bit too serious for me. Need more Nicchi with low blood sugar imho.

The "raise your own wife" fetish has been born, and they even do it in the west (see Woody Allen).

Anyway this seems like a completely random turn of events, why couldn't sensei simply marry Kimiko and then divorce her once the legal trouble was over. Also what exactly are the Japanese adoption laws, cause it seems pretty bad that they can just take away a child from their legal guardian.

Of course the worst of this is the way Kouta is treated; even though, sensei confirmed kouta's feelings for the landlady he didn't discourage him in anyway. I get that it was supposed to be a secret, but he could have at least said that the landlady was in love with someone else. So yeah, I RAGED!!! The lovey dovey bits were actually quite creepy and seemed so out of character. And Kouta's reaction at the end just proves how much the Japanese love cheating housewives (an actual genre of Japanese porn).

After this, who knows what will be revealed about Kanau's mother. confused

I was happy Taeko was removed as a serious candidate, because before that point she had only seemed to be an illusionary love interest anyway (She had always seemed more than a little distant from Kouta to me, like she had no interest in him. The date screwed up my world view, but this development puts things back in order). This really simplifies things. Besides, Sensei is a nice enough guy, and it really wraps things up nicely for why Taeko can't fall in love with anyone.

The only real problem is the existence of the Hikaru Genji Plan, which is a little wtf, and the seemingly sudden affections of the landlady for Sensei (explained by trying to keep it secret before that point).

I must say...
The revelation broke my heart.

I wouldn't be surprised if he stays reclusive for the next 5 chapters or more.
An otaku's broken heart isn't easily fixed o_o

...or he could go on a journey like Harima Kenji did laugh

But seriously, User Posted Image !!!

Sousuke is some kinda asshole. Completely mislead Kouta.

Anyway, Taeko was a heroine which mostly why I'm pissed. Two, they pulled this shit out of nowhere. No setup, whatsoever.

As I was reading the chapter... I saw it coming. I don't know why, I just knew they would announce they were married... But I thought they weren't in love with each other and Kouta would still have a chance until they said "WE'RE MARRIED" super happily... then I was like... WTF xD

I actually thought it was really funny, especially the others' reaction! And I don't like the Landlord at all anyway, thank goodness shes out of the picture.

this was beyond just F***ed up, this disgusted me beyond words. i actually threw up, i didn't throw up when i saw (sufficed to say something that should be far worse then a manga.)
i could go on for a couple paragraphs about exactly why i hate this as much as i do, but i really don't think that's necessary.

i will most definitely not read another page of this and will delete what i already have (a first in my 5 years of reading manga)

my mind can barely rap itself around just how F***ed up this is...
like finding out your childhood friend and love interest is married to your friends ugly fat grandfather...

irl this is more then enough to make someone kill themselves on the spot if not completely snap and massacre the entire building. but of course he wont do that, the F***ing mangaka needs to decide what the hell kind of manga hes writing here.
this is beyond aki sora or takenoko seijins, when you let go of my hand, atleast with those kind of things your braced to not get attached to the characters or think of then like real personalities, the mother character should have warned me the mangaka was off his rocker and was going to put absolutely disgusting things into what should be a Shounen < As It Was Listed! manga.

i hope this can be a warning to any planning on reading this series, unless you can (and are 18+) read the two manga i listed earlier without raging atall, this series has enough rage in ch 43 to make you break your wrist while punching a hole threw your monitor.

right now im going to drink a bottle of scotch and pray that i can forget this traumatic s***.

@marcraft
Oh wow...

Dude, calm down o_o
It's not THAT bad, jeez...

If anything, I think the relationship is kinda sweet.
Sure, it may be a little heartbreaking for Kouta and I must say they make an odd couple, but love is blind~
Just learn to accept it and move on.

And hey, I read Aki Sora and I love it laugh (well...not so much about the exhibitionist, but yeah)

Just...calm down o_o

After that mind-blowingly unexpected plot twist, Tae and Sousuke conveniently and suddenly act as to support said twist.

Someone pulled some wool over my eyes and I don't fucking like it.

As a sidenote, Kanau's still awesome. Good luck to Kouta.
