I'm really not sure if i did this right, so.... (this is my first time to make a poll)

My brother got me into anime, and his friend got him into it, and his friend.... i don't really care about. But how did you get into anime/manga, and when did you find out, you could watch it in Japanese?

I never knew about any of this until my brother forced me to watch it and i never knew it could be in japanese until i was told about it. I actually learned this about 4 years ago. (i'm twelve so..i learned this when i was 8. Got started in anime when i was really little)

I started when I was 5 years old, I was changing the channel on the TV and they were passing Saint Seiya so I left it there and watched it and that's when I started to watch anime.

I knew it could be in Japanese when I was 7 years old.

IT'S ALL MY SISTERS FAULT! BLAME HER-- Err.. Yeah, that sums it up. She got obsessed with gundam wing, and eventually she told me about the anime. Then > I < got obsessed with the anime, and it turns out we found this yaoi thing with HeeroxDuo, and I just HAPPEN to like TrowaxQuatre.. and then it all started. Anime and Yaoi. As for manga, we bought a few volumes but the stores here suck, they have barely any manga at all. So, she found MIRC, and.. bam. Manga.

Mmm... anime started when I was 6 years old when my sister got me to watch Sailormoon... or was it 5 when we watched Dragon ball in the morning? Can't remember. Back then, I didn't even realize there were different languages, even though I spoke 2 at the time. I'm not sure when I realized it was in japanese, but it had to have been before grade 6, since I had Gundam ZZ and X Gundam DVDs in japanese.

As for manga, I think it started when my sis introduced me to Rurouni Kenshin sometime before gr6.

umm....when i was seven or so i really liked Salior moon but i never knew that was anime and then when i was like 10 or 11 i really loved cardcaptors, and even then i had no idea that was an anime, and then when i was 13 i watched Inuyasha and i FINALLY figured out that there was something called anime, then i got into the whole thing...and after that i figured out the naruto manga....then I got into manga...and now i'm addicted to dramas! Now i got everybody around me addicted to it, like a couple of my friends and some of my siblings... biggrin

Sailor Moon on YTV. It is my shame. I don't remember when I realised that it was in japanese, but I think it was shortly after I started watching the show.

When I was kid, like 6-7 years old, me and my brother would watch random cartoons on tv. A couple of those cartoons were Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball, and Ronin Warriors. Someone told us it was "Japanese Animation" and I didn't realize it was an entire genre called anime until later on, when I was like 13 or 14.

My cousin was the one who got me into manga and subbed anime. . He gave me a copy of the first issue of Shonen Jump and when I flipped through it I recognized Yu-Gi-Oh!, YuYu Hakusho, and Dragon Ball Z. At first I thought they were comics based on the anime, then later realized it was the other way around. After actually getting used to reading manga (right to left and not vice versa) I got hooked onto manga and even some manwha (which freaked me out since they were read from left to right.) Naruto was realeased in Shonen Jump then I got hooked onto the anime which the same cousin showed me the subbed episodes, where I was lost since the Shonen Jump releases we sooooooo slooooow (1 or two chapters a month).

A former friend was the culprit.

The first subbed anime I watched was with my cousin and his friend... Initial D. That wasn't enough to get me into it. A friend from school lent me her Rorouni Kenshin manga, then the same cousin lent me the Chrno Crusade anime. The storm was then unleashed...
