I can't see it on my release list for some reason, but I think it's weird too. Maybe it's just a historical manga with an unfortunate title and it doesn't include his ideology?

I'm interested in it.
Didn't find it all that odd, there's a manga adaptation of Das Kapital as well.

There's nothing wrong with the manga or the book... in a sense.
Mostly because if one rejects the past, one is doomed to repeat it.
Besides, it's interesting reading, seeing, and hearing the twisted creative works of psychopaths and sociopaths.
Anyway, don't read it if you feel uncomfortable with it.

Don't see what's wrong with adapting his book. Even knowing it contains his ideology and all, it's just Mein Kampf presented in another medium. There has even been a movie about it. And as Toto pointed out, it's better not to repeat history.
And really Mein Kampf isn't really filled with awful things. Racism aside (he shows he's racist in the book), it was written before his reign.

the problem here is that...its mein kampf
written by a mad massmurderer
how anyone even want to make money out of such sick shit is beyond me
and how can anyone even compare this insane racistramblings to karl marx
noone will forget on what scale this man tried to exterminate ppl he did not see fit to live
we dont need to read his book for that
but very typical japan
so im not that surprised
not one other country in this world would even take this into consideration when making educational comics
and another thing
history will repeat itself no matter what we do
just look at the Srebrenica massacre
and the insane Ratko Mladić
and all his follower who still seem to think its ok to slaughter muslims...they are not human ASO
or more reccent happenings in parts of africa were whole villages were massacred just bcoz they belong to another religion
but spreading these horrible ppls books/propaganda is just not something we should do

It's only propaganda if it's presented in a way to make people think it's true. Things written in a book by a much-hated, long-dead genocidal dictator hardly have a strong endorsement for most readers.
Today, it's just a book, and one of some historical significance, even if it is a poorly written rant.

Why would anyone make a manga out of this?
Because people would buy an autography from a big bad.
What´s wrong about it?
Nothing, many people made movies about Hitler.
Why do i hate it?
Because it isn´t criticsm. This book only praises his author and shows nothing about his evil side. The half of it was written while he was in prison before he became Reichskanzler anyway. It´s full of scrapped-up ideology and there is a reason why it is baned in germany.
What do i think about the manga adaption?
The author should never publish a manga again, get bankrupt and live on the streets. The manga will only make red numbers and noone will remember it.

I find it a very interesting idea, really.
The fact is, the ideologies of Hitler and his reign have taught us several things, among which are the dangers of populism. Which is a very relevant topic, considering the rise of strong populist right wing political parties in Europe.
Though the level and severity are no where near each other, many elements are, such as the us and them mentality. They are not us, therefore they are bad, or at least less than us. Manipulation of masshysteria and such.
By reading Mein Kampf you may be able to understand why things happened the way they did, so you can recognise the signs and prevent it from happening again.
Unfortunatly, not many people have read Mein Kampf or remember the circumstances of Hitler gaining power, otherwise they may recognise the similarities between now and then.

god, we had the reasons why hitler gained power today in school again. it was because of the Great Depression in 1929. Germany struggled under the hyperinfluation, many peope lost their jobs and didn´t get inssurances. The doubted the democracy because of this since it was a rather new system in Germany. Also the middle parties fought amongst themselves and so the people voted for the radicals on the right and on the left wing. But even so when it was time to vote a new Reichskanzler, not Hitler but Franz von Papen won. The NSDAP lost many votes. On the 4th januray Papen met with Hitler. On the 22nd Januray the met again but this time Otto Meißner and Oskar von Hindenburg accompanied them. There is the theory that those two convinced Papen to give Hitler his function as Reichskanzler. Papen wanted to make Hitler his marionette. After Otto von Hindenburg, the Reichspräsident died, Papen lost controll over Hitler. Hitler was never voted by the majority. The people who voted him thaught he would help to come over the struggles of the great depression, they never knew his real goals

I agree with many of you that the book of a man who spurred hatred and destruction is disturbing; however, it is also true that there is much we can learn of the process and overall method that he used to do so—i.e., how to prevent it from happening again.
Well put, The Guy. This pretty much sums up my thoughts. The use of Nationalism (and really, any tool that polarizes one group of people against others) is a dangerous and entirely effective technique, and we would do well to recognize, question, and halt it. The largest disservice to Hitler's victims and the soldiers who sacrificed themselves in the war would be to allow any semblance of his methods to continue in the present day. Think about it as a CSI show where they interview the criminal in order to try to determine how to catch others .
Of course, it is also important for the reader to determine whether the manga is an attempt to whitewash history, or if it is instructional to it's target audience.
This is a bit of an aside, but it perplexes me nonetheless at times—why is it that we can tolerate "entertainment" such as Dexter, the various perversions of hentai, and other fictional accounts of brutality and human suffering, yet we are unable to set aside our biases to analyze a piece of human (albeit an ugly one) history?
Slightly off-topic:
20th Century Boys is a more palpable manga that touches quite a bit on mass manipulation (although it managed to drag on for a bit longer than I'd liked); a highly recommended masterpiece.

I wonder how many who weren't going to read it are now going to becuse you are making a big deal about it, if it wasn't controversial no one would read it except for the occasional nazi and historian.
