Inuyasha= worst ending ever possible =.=

hmm. I thought ouran high school host club was awesome as an anime, better than the manga. Darker than black was an anime first, but the manga being made about it really really erks me.

Well what are we looking for, most anime that most accurately mimic the manga that spawned them?

Best:
History's Strongest Disciple
-only lasted until about the 11th or 12 volume I think but it was very near the manga and to me very fun to watch.

Worst:
Negima, the first one.
-While okay for those that didn't have a clue about what the manga was about it really wasnt that good in a full comparsion.

Worst: Part 2
Mai Hime
- Its listed in a separate section because Im fairly positive that the anime came first and then the manga. While I give the Manga/Anime major points for actually using the characters and setting but creating an alternate story, something I honestly prefer over re-hashing the same story in different medias, (Plus getting more massive points for give Natsuki a male to chase after and thus putting a damper on the Natsuki/Shizuru pairing and enraging fanfiction writers the world over) the manga lacks many of the character and plot quirks that the anime had plus after the 3rd volume it goes into the toliet with a crappy plot twist and annoying villians.

Worst: Part 3
Negima! Magister Negi Magi
-Negi listed twice? Well of course considering there are how many re-makes but this category is Part 3: Worst manga to live action out there. Looking at the student list made my eyes bleed and I prayed that they would wear a helmet listing there student number and name so if I ever could watch it I could follow along with who was who. At least La Blue Girl can claim its crappy based on being a hentai.

Worst:
Shugo Chara - I found the deleted scenes and the torcherous fillers a pain to watch.
Special A - Some mangas are just not meant to be animes.
Vampire Knight - Many people liked it. I didn't. I thought the manga was much better.

Best:
Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch - I liked the anime as much as I liked the manga. biggrin

Worst:
Dragonaut (The anime version of the protagonist is such a sissy. Actually, the anime changed /everything/ except for the setting.)

Best:
Aishiteruze Baby (They didn't change a lot of events and when they show each moment, it's the exact same image as the frame from the manga.)

i have to admit inuyasha had a crap ending. fine the manga had't finished yet but have you ever heard of a second series?

not sure where bleach goes. great fight scenes and follwed the manga but the fillers a waste of time.

Best:
Probably MuShiShi. The colour, voice acting and dreamy music seem to add another layer to an already excellent story and setting. The main protagonist's voice is just like I imagined it.
Another great example is Honey & Clover.

Worst:
That's harder because there are so many. D-Grayman had too much filler and I stopped watching it.

Anime and Manga equally Good:
Saikano and Koi Kaze

Anime and Manga equally Bad:
Suzuka and to-Love-ru

The best one?
GTO was such a great manga...i had mixed feelings when i finished it.

And the worst...
Ichigo 100%...reading it was like a guilty pleasure cause i really like the artist drawings, but it was really a odyssey going from chapter to chapter, then, i just killed it at 130 or so... couldn't handle the pain in my eyes.
Btw i hate naruto and bleach just because everyone else loves it =P

Worst:
Negima (The first one) - Why it became generic unfunny harem anime with bad ending ...

Good:
Bleach - Until Soul Society arc ended. After that better read the manga.
Lucky Star

Best: Death Note It was nearly word-for-word at times. The ending was different though.

Worst: Eyeshield 21 Maybe it's because I love the manga to bits, so my standards were too high? I barley liked any of the voices in Japanese or English, the ending was lame, alot was changed and Mizumachi was annoying and totally un-cute in the anime, and it was tragic. ;w; The only good things were the cute opening and closing, and the Seibu/Misaki game. Otherwise....total failure, imo.

Quote from gan17
Anime and Manga equally Bad:
to-Love-ru
[/quote]
I actually like to-love-ru's anime way better than the manga, probably 'cause it's got less fanservice and I haven't watched enough episodes. I think it stayed true to the manga and cut a lot of the worse parts.

I like Soul Eater's anime better than the manga, but I've only read the 1st volume. Same with [m]Suzimiya Haruhi[/m], though the novel is the best of the lot.

As for shoujo/josei:
Itazura na Kiss has a yummy anime adaptation -- stays really true in all the right ways. Like it as much as the manga. Same with Cardcaptor Sakura-Mei Lin is one of the few anime only characters who actually works, even when she's annoying.

Nodame Cantabile is great-stays very true and adds the music. Same with Nana, which benefits a lot from the mood. And Gokusen is fabulous in both media.

Seconding/thirding whatever that Special A is a horrible adaptation that gets it wrong far too often. Wallflower was also subpar: bad art, bad music, and magnified the manga's utter lack of plot.

i agree with rentauri about negima being the worst adoptation to anime... i especially hated the remake coz of the recurring "Hunt of the chupacabra"(wtf!). I wish they would make an anime of the current arc of the manga where negi learns the dark arts...
