Hello all. We're looking for some release mods who are interested in helping us speed up updates on this site. If you're interested, please send me a PM.

Thanks!

edit: thanks for all the interest! we're looking through the apps now, so it may take a bit. don't worry if you haven't heard anything back from us yet. you will get a response eventually.

If existing mods weren't continuously uploading releases to sites like Mangafox against the wishes of the scanlation-groups, you probably wouldn't need more mods. wink

just an example... you can look at other series releases. He does... many. He's the second most contributor on mangafox with 7281 files to his name.

He also does it on many other online readers.

Precisely, he does it despite the scanlators' wait times and despite the rage threads on MangaFox scanlators start.

Mods can't remove the manga he uploads, because his uploads are accepted automatically. Scanlators try to block him from joining their channel on IRC, etcetera.

Yep, check out his name under 'Release Mods' when you click the 'About Us' section on the right navigation panel.

If this is true then I'm quite shocked to see someone I value quite high as an organisation being this low...respect is going down the drain. D:

Seems like you may need more mods after taking time to clean the idiots from the staff,eh?

PS: At least now I know how they end up really fast at online mangareaders: "Go check the release, download it, update the database on mu, upload it to the manga onlinereaders...Done working and trolling" What a tard. >.<

The following is not the view or stance of MangaUpdates but just simply my own personal thoughts and opinion. Please don't hold MangaUpdates liable for any of my words or actions.

Please let us refrain from flaming other individuals on this site. Not really sure I've personally ever spoken with the individual that's being mentioned but hey if they're doing a good job here, for free I might add with no added benefit whatsoever, and uploading releases and letting the sites subscribers/members know when new releases are out then I feel that's a good thing. People of all creeds, backgrounds, etc etc submit releases to us for review/update all the time. What I mean to say is that it wouldn't be fair to discriminate and say you shouldn't update releases because I don't like the fact you scanlate licensed manga (bear in mind all manga is licensed somewhere just not maybe specifically where you live) or because I know you cheated on that math test back in 7th grade that makes you a bad person. What I'm trying to say if we all have different degrees of morality. We all find ways to justify our actions. To an extent this person is doing the same exact thing manga raw providers do. They're taking something someone created, making a copy of it, and distributing that copy to others. Our normal justification is: "Well this manga would never see the light of day otherwise and would never have reached xx audience. In which case it's easy to justify by considering we're helping build an audience and fan base maybe even increasing readership/sales for the original mangaka." You can make the same argument that this person is doing same. By making it available on xx site it's making this or that more easily available to this or that individual that may not have been able to access or stumble upon it otherwise. Again not to say I agree with their actions on a personal level plus I'm quite lazy so I wouldn't even go to the extra hassle of uploading the manga scans to a manga reading site, even if I was so inclined to do so that is. To sum up not really sure that said actions should play any relevance to their role or position here. This and that are two different things. Again just my two cents.

Back to me being a representative for site. In closing just wish to reiterate, to those not already aware, MangaUpdates have already prided ourselves on following direction from the scanlators of the release. If we're told to not update the release until 24 hours out or hey don't post link to download, our forums, irc channel, website, or etc etc we tend to respect and cooperate with request. We're all a community and should do our best to respect each other and what we do. It's our love for manga that brought us here and keeps the community going. Thanks for taking the time to read. And with that said let's end the discussion there. Thanks.

Wow, that's a shock to me too.
It's almost funny that he's working here. It's sort of like Attila the Hun running a creche.

seems you don't really get the point... you just told us something that doesn't have anything to do with what the guys above actually meant by in their posts. what they meant that, that guy that's also a mod here is a tard BECAUSE he doesn't respect the wishes of the scanlators... THEY wish for THEIR releases not to be uploaded in the first 24 hours anywhere.... and yet he does. also... some people just dont like their scanlations being fucked up by mangafox's online reader...
here's what you said: "If we're told to not update the release until 24 hours out or hey don't post link to download, our forums, irc channel, website, or etc etc we tend to respect and cooperate with request."... and yet he doesn't do that.... he doesn't wait 24 hours.
usually you should check what the other people write before you post.
i won't give my opinion on the matter cause i don't care embarrassed
