so basically, i'm the type of person who doesn't like happy, lovey dovey style of mangas. I don't mind reading them time to time, but i love and prefer mangas like D.greyman, Chrono crusade, Full metal Achemist, 07 Ghost, Spiral and my fav, Pandora Hearts. You know, the twisted, non romance based, dark and sad themed mangas? so i kindly ask for mangas like the ones mentioned above and if posible, ones with nice pictures. It would also be nice if they weren't yaoi, yuri etc. And if possible, i'm a Break no.1 fan so maybe a Break like character in the mangas as well? (puppy face) that is, if possible

P.S a male lead please , and i'm not genderlising! It's just that i find that most mangas with a female leads are romance, end up romance, no real adventure, cry cry cry, and...hmm..yeah you get the idea. And if there is a female lead, i'd prefer the female not to be all "i'm the greatist. Bow down before me and kiss my shoes!".

Aku no Hana - Pretty dark and twisted, but its not really action oriented.
Tail Star - Pretty new so I don't know how it will turn out, but so far its fairly dark.
The Legend of Maian - I think it is on hiatus right now, but if you read it and like it it should be worth the wait. Has some romance in it, but i don't think its a deal breaker.
Tower of God - If you've not read it, I suggest doing so.

i must say, when i said dark, i didn't know there were ones that were so dark that they were just depressing^^
BTW i'm not really a fan of gore, but thanx

P.S if you are wondering why there are two topics with the same topic and poster, thats just because it's my first time posting something and i just wanted to make sure. Using tech stuff isn't one of my strong points dead

Btooom!
I dont really know if you'll like this cause it might not be dark enough and there's some romance involved but i recommend you try it. I just recently stumbled across it and wasn't really convinced the first chapters but i got into the story after a while and must say i can't wait until the next chapter is out.

i watched the anime and i liked it alot. I'm just waiting for the manga to have lots of chapters before i read it because i don't want to have to wait for the next chapter during a climax which often happens to me cry

and so that i'm just clear with you, what do you mean not dark enough? confused

Hmm well theres definitely more depressing/gore mangas out there than Btoom!
Also Fullmetal Alchemist for example is in my opinion way more depressing/sad than this manga.
And its a good thing that you wait for some more chapters to air cause at the moment its really a freakin cliff hanger and i cant wait for the next chapter LOL. Let us build a time machine and travel into the future so we can read bigrazz

good idea!

BTW i'm not a sadist if thats what everyone is thinking. Ok, i did ask for dark stuff but i don't like pain or whatsoever so plez don't think i'm some crazy person or anything. I only asked for something like Pandora Hearts, but if you think that that is something really dark , then i'm sorry, i can't help you. bigrazz

Sorry if I'm a bit off here, but you could try these out:
The Pale Horse. The darker ambience happens a bit latter.
Necromancer
Trinity Blood

You can try FUJIWARA Kaoru's works out as well.

Maybe you can try YUKI Kaori's works.

Works from her that I've read and find it dark include:
Hakushaku Cain Series
God Child
Fairy Cube
Ludwig Kakumei

P.S: The Yaoi wasn't strong(as if unnoticeable) so please don't mind it. smile

EDIT: Maybe Kuroshitsuji too.
