Quote from StephKuran If the Olympics still apply:
What is your favorite event of the 2012 Olympics? (Trying to generalize a bit) *Athletics (Races, jumps, throw, triathlon...) *Water sports (diving, swimming, sailing...) *Fighting sports (boxing, judo, wrestling...) *Aiming sports (shooting, archery...) *Gymnastics *Weightlifting *International-based competititons (tennis, cycling...) *Team-based (football, basketball, volleyball...) *Other ones (table tennis, equestrian, badminton...)
Everybody likes at least one sport. I will insist on this if I'm still alive by Rio 2016 XD

What font (letter type) do you prefer for reading manga scanlations?
- Arial - Arial Black - Calibri - Comic Sans MS - Impact - Verdana - Times New Roman - Webdings - Tahoma - Trajan - Futura - Garamond - Frutiger - Bickham Script - Bodini - Cambria - Monotype corsiva - Lucida Sans Unicode - Helvetica
I couldn't find such a poll and it looks interesting for groups.
Edit: @nowyat: I also like large letters, it's annoying to enlarge the picture, if it would be released as a pdf this wouldn't be a problem (a pdf can be read online as well being saved).

Brilliant poll suggestion! I always use Comic Sans personally, but a test done by the New York Times suggested that that was least believable font, while Baskerville was the most trustworthy. But I just want my font large, (really, really large) clean, clear and not squirrelly. I would probably go with Helvetica or Times New Roman. I hope this suggestion gets chosen. (Oh, and I want everything on the page translated, if possible.) I love translators notes too. Possible poll there. That's what I miss most about paperback manga. Translators are cool people. I'll try to think of a poll about how wonderful translators are.

Here's a poll about preferred story length. Kind of like the difference between shonen and shoujo average chapter length.
How long do you prefer a series to be?
-lots of volumes with short chapters (around 20 pages) -lots of volumes with long chapters (30+ pages) -few volumes with short chapters (around 20 pages) -few volumes with long chapters (30+pages)

I expect that everyone who reads manga has thought about visiting Japan. What do you think would be the hardest thing to adjust to?
1. Being surrounded by people who speak a different language. 2. People there will regard you as a crazy foreigner or 'gaijin'. You will experience racism, perhaps for the first time. 3. You will have to eat completely different foods than you are used to. Raw fish, squid, eel, octopus... 4. You might accidentally wander into an extremely expensive bar and have to pay hundreds of dollars for lunch. 5. You will commit terribly rude and offensive acts unknowingly. 6. You might become terribly disillusioned and find many things there are the same or worse as where you came from. (Crime, poverty, human rights abuses, McDonalds) 7. What you learned as the Japanese language in your own country sounds totally different all the sudden. 8. You will end up hanging out with people from your own country and never really see what real life there is like. 9. Super-hot summers like you never dreamed of, giant hornets, nature is just different. 10. Japanese people understand the impermanence of life and it colors everything. You might have trouble re-adjusting to your own culture psychologically, later.
This poll is open to revisions. I actually never travel anywhere at all. And not to say that there are not many wonderful and amazing things about Japanese culture. Like putting the clothes washing machine in the bathroom. So brilliant. Or those tiled bathroom floors with a drain and tubs that can overflow. Or the hands clapping thing, to awaken oneself, before a grave or a temple...

This is just a suggestion.
Which color Power Ranger (Super Sentai) are you?
1. Red 2. Blue 3. Yellow 4. Pink 5. Green 6. Black 7. White
(I wanted to do a "Which Pokemon do you want?" poll, but couldn't figure out how to do it, if anyone can, please do so...)
Oh and I really like that poll above about mythical creatures. I'd include the Kappa, a turtle-man thing and the Kitsune, a fox-man thing and the Garuda, a bird-man thing.
p.s. JCK was interesting but confusing...

I would list... Fantasy Comedy Drama - involving conflicts of events, characters and emotions Josei - intended for adult women Slice Of Life - mundane realism depicting everyday experiences Doujinshi - self-published by the author Ecchi - erotic 18+ Action Sports Shounen-Ai soft boy's love Shounen - intended for males 10 and up Adventure - character travels and meets danger Mecha - centered around robotic elements Gender-Bender -characters switch gender in clothes Shoujo - targeted at girls School Life Martial Arts Harem Psychological - characters will have emotional, behavioral issues Tragedy Historical -events set in the past, historical events may play a role Yuri - girl's love Yaoi - boy's love Mystery Shouju-Ai -soft girl's love Sci-Fi Romance One-Shot - short usually just one chapter Seinen - targeted at teen-age to adult males Horror Supernatural Webtoons - distributed only on the internet, usually by amateurs Sentai - super-hero teams
puff, puff... Polls are hard. It would be a different list for anime, somewhat. I defined the ones I thought people might not know. A poll is a group effort. Whoop! Open to (massive) revision. Oh, and I'd say which do you love the most. Too bad we can't vote for multiple choices.

Quote from Saons What do you like in the characters you read about? 1. I like characters that are nothing like me. 2. I like it when we share a trait or two, so I can relate better. 3. I like it when the main character is just like me, so I can pretend I am in the story. 4. No preference; I just like good characters. This

Hypothetical question for a poll...
If a manga publisher (Viz, for example) were to adopt a format similar to Crunchyroll's, where you'd pay a monthly fee (under $10) for access to their entire library of translated manga to read either on the computer or mobile device,
Would you subscribe to it?
