hehe I don't think anyone has said Kimi ni Todoke
Anyone hate that one?
That's actually another one of my favorites ^^

By no means do I hate it (it's one of my favorites too), but sometimes I'm annoyed by Sawako's naivete and I think she gives the guy too much credit for changing her life.

Skip Beat- The art is not great and the story is draggy. Not just the love story but even the acting parts are starting to bore me. I'm still reading it though.

Manga by Yuzuki Jun (such as Gakuen Ouji) - The premise for the stories seem interesting, but they are poorly executed. Plus the art is just bad.

Ouran High School Host Club: I found it boring. Didn't care for the art either.

Kaichou wa Maid-sama!- Now this I really don't like. I tried to pick it up again because I heard it got better but to me it got worse.

Having said this, my love for Special A is beyond reason. shy

Well, I hate everything made by Shinjo Mayu and Minami Kanan. I don't like the art (it's not even beautiful!) or the stories made by these mangakas. I'll also add Kayono (I personally hate her for getting away with plagiarism)

Nana is not that bad but I can't like the characters (I can't stand them) and the story is kinda boring. If I wasn't curious about the ending I would have dropped it.

Hana Kimi - I like it but I found it boring starting vol.15 and I couldn't even finish the story properly...

Perfect Girl Evolution - the story gets boring and too long.

Vampire Knight

The series I've dropped reading and I couldn't stand:
- Uwasa no Midori-kun: I hated the reason of the revenge and what's the problem with this heroine who likes to be naked and got caught for that reason?!
Worst gender bender story i've ever read with Boku ni Natta Watashi.
- Desire Climax

That's the ones I remembered for the moment...

I once tried to read it but the art put me off. Was it supposed to be a shoujo? Having stuff that an ecchi/shounen would have? O_o

I didn't like Fruit's Basket that much. I got bored with it almost immediately. Most of the characters (including the main one) bored me, too. I liked the artwork, though.

I totally don't understand why vampire knight is liked by so many people. I thought it would have some interesting things in it. But it was just the art which attracted me, so I stopped after a while.
Just like Shugo Chara!, first I thought ok but I didn't like it anymore.
The same was with Kaichou wa maid-sama!, maybe I will try reading more of that later but not sure. First I really liked it but didn't anymore.
Hot Gimmick, I just didn't like it ><

Vampire Knight

I don't see what is special in this manga, it's incredibly shallow like all this annoying vampire fad

I hate most of Yuu Watase's work; her works include the famous Fushigi Yuugi, Alice 19th, Imadoki!, Absolute Boyfriend, and her Genbu Gaiden series. All of her works have the same theme: Reverse harem and it's not something I'm very fond of.

I also hate any manga that has very BUBBLY eyes such as Bottle Fairies, Fruits Basket, Astro Boy, and so on. They're supposed to be portrayed as "cute" and "adorable". Well--I don't do "cute".

But I extremely hate the kind of manga/anime that's within to my liking but the action really blow. Like Samurai Deeper Kyo (that's not a Shoujo/Josei, but oh well). none

I agree. I watched about the first 3 episodes and grew really tired of it. So if the anime really sucked, I rather just skip the manga. :/

I'm guessing Fruits Basket is so loved because it was just...one of those "first" shoujo manga out there. Many people have started with that manga as their first. That was my first shoujo manga too, I didn't absolutely love it, I got bored with it. But I liked some moments in it...(Though it is quite overrated.)

Hmm, I dislike most popular shoujo, usually because they involve some sort of cliche (which are popular and work). Like where there is a dating service or goal to get a boyfriend. (Koukou Debut, Hanazakari no Kimitachi e, etc.) Superficial.
And where a girl/guy is "changed" by the other (Kimi ni Todoke). It's too perfect, has no conflict, and is also very repetitive. Every act, they go thank you! thanks for changing me! you've changed so much! or some variation.
Also any shoujo where a girl is unintelligent and others protect her. (Fruits Basket) The males cluster around her and solve every problem.
Any shoujo where a girl experiences an injury and is carried out. It's shows no self-control on the male's part, which indicates weak characterization. (Lovely Complex, Special A, Skip Beat)
Any girl who is an "iron lady" but actually turns out to be quite weak and submissive to the male. (Kaichou wa Maid-sama, Skip Beat, and many more)

I actually like Vampire Knight, out of a fondness for supernatural/fantasy things and the great potential in its first few chapters. (which, unfortunately, was wasted)

Kimi ni Todoke
Why is this so popular? The characters are bland, the romance is pathetic, and the plot is miniscule, uninteresting and vague. The art's not even that great--mostly just medicore (except for the chibis, which are intolerably annoying). Who could actually bring themselves to care about them? I slogged through ten chapters waiting for it to get better (since there must have been something that everyone liked to much) but I didn't see any improvements. At all.

Lovely Complex
Well, the plot runs around in circles and never goes anywhere. The same with their relationship. It seemed like every time they showed indications of liking each other, they'd wake up the next day like it never happened. And the art is dreadful, I couldn't get used to it at all. I found the humor rather weak and the characters themselves failed to draw me in, mostly because of aforementioned circular plot, which also stunted any character development or growth.

Hot Gimmick
I have to question the mental health of people who enjoyed this series. The main character is in an abusive relationship and decides she can fix it by marrying the bastard?! WTF?! And seriously, all the guys are complete assholes--at one point I was rooting for the guy who tried to gang-rape her simply because he didn't suck as much as her other potential suitors. Plus the main character herself is a whiny, indecisive little bitch who likes to get pushed around and treated like shit, apparently.

Desire Climax
My reasons for disliking this are almost identical to my reasons for not liking Hot Gimmick. Again, the guys are all assholes who abuse her and she can't decide which one is the biggest bastard (which she will inevitably choose anyway). In addition, this series feels the need to insert a plethora of random smut scenes where the guy forces himself on her. Rape, anyway? Sexual harrassment? Oh, and not to mention the fact that this series is riddles ridiculous plotlines.

Karneval
I suppose it's a bit questionable as to what category this series falls under, but it's tagged as Josei and it seems rather female-oriented. Anyway, I'm not sure what the draw is for this series. I admit that I liked the first few chapters, but I've long since lost interest. The art is very pretty, though not pretty enough to explain its inexplicable popularity. The plot is mysterious and undefined, and (as far as I can tell) going absolutely nowhere. The setting is boring and generic and the characters are shallow and lack personality or charm. Also, Tsukumo is strangely popular (among fans) despite having the worst character design of the entire series and no personality whatsoever. Why?

Hana to Akuma
The characters lack any charm, individuality, or personality. The concept is cliched and over-used. The setting lacks any originality. The art is sub-par. The dialogue reads like a cheesy romance novel dumbed down for 5-year-olds to enjoy. And there's the vaguely creepy loli-factor. Even if she's not a child, she sure looks and acts like one.

Perfect Girl Evolution
The art is dreadful. The girl is always in that annoying chibi mode and the guys are HIDEOUS. They're deformed and freakish looking with their eyes bulging out like that and their faces narrowing in like a weasel. The characters themselves were boring and stereotypical and there's NEVER any character development or growth and it looked as if the relationship was going to crawl along, judging by the meager number of chapters I endured. The humor was weak and uninspired.

Anything by SHINJO Mayu
The females are all complete, utter morons who don't even deserve the air their waste with breathing (especially since none of it going to their brains) and who lack the coordination to walk and blink at the same time. The males are all meglomaniacs (with the occasional egomaniac variant) who enjoy random smut scenes with their idiotic female counterparts, who are too dumb to realize they're being raped or abused. The plots are always sidelined for smut and every single character has the same personality as the one from every other series of her's. Also, the art is rather unattractive. The girls are all supposed to be "plain" despite looking exactly the same (or sometimes better) than the "pretty" girls and the guys are all super-smart, super-handsome, super-strong and drawn like deformed frog-monkey hybrids.

There are quite a few others I'm not fond of but can't think of right now.

I don't like Ouran High School Host Club, Gakuen Alice or Peach Girl. I'm sure there's more but right now I can't think of any others.
