I don't know what is the best shounen is ever.
The best shounen running now has to be One piece then
Naruto
Fairy Tail
Beelzebub
Defense devil
Bleach is just crap at the moment.

Lol someone just said One piece and fairy tail... when one is an alternate universe of the other  .
Anyway... having a "best" is imposible as .. people's tastes come and go. Yet u can talk about Bestseller and thats indeed One piece. Then again... U fall in the error of forgeting about Age and with time people read more as we grow in population so... its un fair compare lets say this age bestseller with 12/15 years ago and then i believe it was Dragon ball. So to get the best seller of all time and be accurate we should be forced to do some heavy weight statistics O_o and i dont think anybody will ever try ^^.

One Piece for me, there's not even competition imho.

Hikaru no Go and Beelzebub are awesome (though Beelzebub's still pretty new, so you never know if it'll turn into crap by the time it hits Naruto/Bleach length)
But I've gotta nominate Hunter x Hunter for number one. It's got all the elements of a typical shounen, but is somehow able to make them awesome and unique! The characters, plot and setting are all purely shounen, but are all ridiculously amazing and interesting. Definitely the best in my opinion!
EDIT; Oh, and I can't forget Soul Eater, which is also a great series. It still doesn't top HxH, but it's up there on my list

Gamaran and The Breaker are pretty damn good too.

The best now is easily One Piece now that FMA is gone.
After that I say Psyren, The Breaker, Gamaran, Deadman Wonderland, HunterxHunter, Ares, D.Gray-man, Bleach, Naruto, Defense Devil.
Soul Eater is good but its been a while since a new chapters come out.

I second all shounen & comment in this list except for Soul Eater and one more my fav is Bleach but it comes after all those above....
