GamePlay. If I want a good graphic I will buy a draw.

Is this even a real question? It's like asking if the appearance or taste of a cake is more important

I usually choose gameplay. In the past few years, I've liked ADOM (Ancient Domains of Mystery), Masters of Magic, Dominions I-III, and Gemcraft. These weren't exactly graphically overwhelming, especially ADOM. Nice graphics are good, though (Dungeon Siege series).

Nethack is one of the most involving games I've ever played, though few would praise the graphics. But really, the best graphics cards we have are our minds, right? bigrazz

That aside though, I enjoy nice graphics. They certainly don't make up for gameplay faults, but if you combine the two...

All after sprites is unnecessary.
I want gameplay.

Gameplay. Graphics don't mean much to me, although I prefer to have at least snes-era graphics.

I remember playing those back in the day. The duck hunt games were seriously frustrating for me though, sometimes it didn't hit even when I aimed directly in front of the tv. embarrassed

Man, should this thread even stay open? Everyone chooses gameplay over graphics. Like I've said before, playing a game with great graphics but bad gameplay/story is like dating a really hot, dumb person. It's nice at first (maybe even really nice), but eventually you'll get bored that there's no substance. Of course, games that have great graphics, gameplay, and story are truly amazing (Uncharted 2). But yea, gameplay/story over graphics any day.

I find story and gameplay far better then graphics. What motive do I have to buy a 60$ game for 5 hours of wow this looks great compared to a 40+ hour game that keeps you coming back. This is why RPG's are the best IMO. But on the rare occasion you find a game with great graphics and gameplay it's usually rated low for some odd reason and you get it at a great price.

Sometimes gameplay and grafics doesn't mean a good game, look at silent hill it doesn't have either of those and its one of the greatest

Both. Games must be both great on gameplay and graphics, that being said, if a game has great gameplay...then it will usually have at least decent graphics.

for old ones i donĀ“t mind the graphics as long they have a good story and gameplay.
For the newer ones they need both. I just love to see my friend playing final fantasy 13 since ever second of it would be a great screensaver Q.Q to better the graphics the better the mood.

Gameplay and storyline, who'd pick graphics?!
Example of good gameplay but bad graphics: FF7. Example of mediocre gameplay but great graphics: FF13. Which is more popular?
