And please don't get me wrong with what I said last... I think all 3 mainstream shows should be close to an end since all their authors are doing is adding fillers in a manga... and if they were bad in their anime version it's even worse when it's done in the manga...
I must disagree with one piece. While it is true that bleach is nearing it's final arc and naruto seems to be at its final battle aswell. One Piece is only about halfway through.
Fillers? We don't know yet what signififiganse the "fullbring" will have in the final arc. Besides i wouldn't call this chapter a filler. One piece is doing the exact thing it's supposed to. Adventures on new islands.
So with all due respect i believe you are wrong in this case
I'm sorry but I have to disagree with you on that. One Piece reminds me of Dragon Ball and not for the best of motives.. After the time leap, it took the author something like 20 chapters, in which like 4 of them were clear fillers. As for the 16 chapters left, he could have condensed them into 3 or 4 since, what he showed, had little to almost no information.
And this is what reminded me Dragon Ball (anime version) with the never ending fight, where they would spend 80% of the episode punching the sky and the rest would have a little development in story. Same thing with One Piece but this time it's the manga version so I expect things to go a bit faster than that and also have a bit more of depth... And this was one of the reasons that made me drop One Piece because, let's face it, the One Piece that they are after is the true friendship so why does the author need 2000 chapters to explain that? Also, One Piece's story hasn't progressed much after the great battle in the Navy HQ (which, for me was pretty epic) and that is also why I'm disappointed with this manga. Will probably pick it up back in 2 or 3 years... when the author decides to get back on the story...
He should start thinking about wrapping things up because, if things keep the same pace he has been putting in the last 2 or 3 years, One Piece will go from a "good/great" shounen manga to a "could have been a great manga but ended in a slump" shounen manga.
As for Naruto, my prediction is that it will end in 1 or 1 and a half years. Still think the author needs from 50 to 70 chapters to actually have a plausible and non-rushed ending that can satisfy most of the fans (it won't be possible to satisfy them all, i guess lol).
You're right. One Piece peaked at the Marine HQ War arc, and then it just went on a downward spiral, starting with lame memories of when Luffy was a kid. Ironically, only one main character was involved in that battle with Whitebeard, and the two arcs before it, proving the rest expendable, and that the villains are only what is interesting. Unfortunately, there is no end to their numbers, or lives. Oda keeps introducing characters with no end in sight. I feel like he is still working out their fighting skills, and how to deal with that Logia/Haki delimma. Fights rarely conclude properly. 8 of the Akatsuki are dead, while the Shichibukai are huhwut?
The problem is that there is no plot to speak of; those 'adventures' are not better than when Naruto met that Sora guy in the anime; a filler that ends with everything all well and no one mentioning it ever again, and yes, the Skypiea arc was a filler, too. You can skip them without knowing the difference. It is always dangerous when the fillers
become the plot.
Besides, eveyone is at god-level already. Now what?
About Naruto, yeah, it is getting way too gay. He took care of the five
bijuu faster than I thought, though. At least we will finally see what Madara's guitar can do.
Also, the last two pages were badass. I loved that word, '"
carnage" will come to the battlefield!!!' It will take a little while for Naruto to get picked up again after MangaStream dropped it, but at least it may not be watermarked, and we might see fast releases in the beginning.
