Wow, this was from an episode of Naruto Shippudden..??
Did Russia not air the Prequel animated episodes? If the 14 year old just watched the first 3-5 episodes of Naruto, that would have been enough to erase all thoughts of ever committing suicide. In the beginning, the series was all about being accepted, being acknowledged and accomplished as somebody important to anyone who you could call "friend".
Doesn't a 14 year old know that a shounen jump anime character dying in an anime movie is just canon? And Seriously? Killing yourself because of Itachi of all people? A 14 year old should know that psycho-killers like Itachi are labeled as terrorists in modern day society, regardless of knowledge of story origin. What do they teach 14 year olds in Russia?
My little brother is 11 years old (although, he kind-of skipped a few grades) and he's watched tons of violent anime (Gantz, Berserk, Elfin Lied, Death Note, Claymore...you name it). My bro already has a girlfriend and is making a ton money helping next door neighbors, family and friends. The kid's a saint. My family is kind of religious...so maybe that played a huge role for him too...?
I don't know what that 14 year old has been through, but I am sure that the Naruto anime wasn't the cause. Some people actually watch Naruto for some kind of positive learning enrichment for life. So if the parents were worried that he was watching too much television, maybe he was finding a way to escape reality. Not that it matters but maybe he was gay - he didn't kill himself because of a female character; there are many females who died. Better males to die for were Asuma Sarutobi or Jiraiya - not Itachi (the killer of his entire clan)!!! If the kid reads the manga in the afterlife, he's going to regret what he did. He'll learn that Itachi was brought back to life and had a better fulfilling ending.
My point is that this 14 year old's life in reality, must have been living HELL for him if an anime like Naruto couldn't save him from not thinking depressive thoughts. I've always thought that manga and anime fans would be less likely to kill themselves because they always have a new episode, new chapter, or an entirely new series to look forward to. They would want to stay alive as long as possible to witness the ending of the series they're interested in. Which makes me believe that there must have been other unknown reasons as to why he would kill himself. Anime could not have been the only cause.
His parent's should have interacted with him in a better way. I'll leave it at that.
