Okay, it's not really relevant but I just want to bring it up >=)
Uryu and Ichigo are distant cousins.

I always wondered why no one ever tried to teach him kido. He wouldn't be nearly as worthless as he is now if he could use byakurai (an insanely low level skill... it's #4 for God's sake

I believe it was mention way back in the beginning (even before the SS arc back when he was challenged by Ishida) that Ichigo is terrible with reitsu. It is also mentioned ( by Zaraki) when he fights Kenpachi that like Kenpachi he cannot use kido. The reason he never learned is because he does not have the aptitude to do so. It could be the result of his now revealed mixed blood. Maybe his Quincy blood screws up kido and maybe his shinigami blood does the same for any Quincy powers.

No. Ishida is NOT becoming gin. Gin was amazing. And died a valliant death to a super god that is impossible to kill.

However i still believe that ishida will end up following juha bach right up until the last twenty or so chapters. Aka he will actually do this stuff supposedly of his own conscience and decision. The only reason he will help ichigo in the end will probably be for orihime or something.

And about kido, thought #4 is extremely low, it's much faster than most kido. Its byakuya's signature move for crying out loud.

And i really dont want a twenty chapter history about quincies, though interesting, bleach really needs to end while its still good right now.

And about the uniforms...it has nothing to do with wwi or wwii. First of all, soul society's 1000 years is nothing like the real world's thousand years. Germanic languages such as the ones bach used has literally not been developed yet in the "real world".

1: Kenpachi and the rest of the 11th squad never learned kido because they consider it a sign of weakness. It's not that they couldn't, it's that they won't.

2: Renji was pretty terrible with Kido in all the flashbacks to their academy days. It was a matter of practice and instruction that brought him to the level he's at, which admittedly seems weaker than many of the others.

3: Ichigo may not have an aptitude for kido, but he does prove better with reiatsu than people think. Just before the Ishida encounter, during the canary thing with Chad, he brought out those reiatsu strings by instinct alone. It was implied that even Rukia couldn't use that.

4: Plus he learned fullbring pretty easily, and those abilities are kido for humans.

My point is that if they had really wanted to try, they could have taught him how to use kido. But instead they made him rely on his bankai for every fight after he achieved it, even the weaker hollows. It could have been that they didn't want him to get too strong, since the last "substitute shinigami" ended up rebelling and being oddly unstoppable for several decades.

On a semi-unrelated note, knowing what we know now about Unohana, her amazement at Ichigo's reiatsu while they were leaving Hueco Mundo becomes even more telling. She thought just a fraction of his power was "captain-level," in comparison to hers. Granted, her fame comes from skill, not reiatsu, but it's interesting to think about.
