Oh I seriously second High School of the Dead! It's simply amazing! Reading each chapter is like watching an awesome action movie! The gunplay is really pretty awesome. First volume is a little weak though.

U mean where people actually need to take cover? Reload? enemies and henchmen actually are as accurate or more accurate than the protagonist? You don't run around and shoot at each other while missing the entire time? Buddy, in fiction that DOESNT exist.

Dogs bullets & Carnage has realistic gun-play, a cyberpunk theme It is a post apocalyptic manga that takes place after the downfall of order and prosperity. (but it has a touch of sci fi if that's permissible)

I second Black Lagoon and [m]Jormagund[/m] , they both have highly realistic gunplay and deal with the criminal standpoint of things. It's on the more chaotic areas so it seems like they live in a lawless land.

That's all i can think of for now.

huuuhhhh sorry I'm a bit at lost what do you mean by "realistic" ?
do you mean realistic like Unforgiven ? (the epitome of realism : a gun can jam , there is no tactic into gunfight , even a good shooter can shoot really bad , guys are shot in the back, when they're harmless or in another ugly way , the quicker is not the better:slow cold blood killer are more likely to shoot their man ,etc...)

'cause from my point of view Black Lagoon isn't very realistic , and I'm a big fan of it yet .... I mean when you're jumping from boat to boat while a bunch of guys are shooting at you and you aren't even scratched you can't allege to be realistic ... Same thing for shooting a helicopter with a torpedo in a chicken race.... Same thing for 2 girls rushing through a camp shooting everyone and then getting out an hostage without any problems or the "vampire" episode with a girl able to wear a gatling which is likely to be more heavy than her .....

Even if it's SCI FI Eden is not bad about the realism of gunfight.....at least as long as you acknowlege the existence of cyborg ,etc.... laugh

Well, Hotel Harbour View is pretty realistic in it's gun fights (one scene, in which a woman and a man fire one bullet at each other lasts for a few pages), Mind, it's a one-shot and pretty gritty.

Lol... i guess i might have gone out on a limb on that one. Now that i think about it, it isn't all that realistic. I must have been pulled into the idea that it's realistic because the premesis of the story is pretty gritty lol.. XD It is a bit skimpy in the physics department. XDXD

Black Lagoon and Black Cat aren't realistic. They are good reads, but you don't read them expecting realism.

Jiraishin is very good. The gun scenes are very realistic and short. Guy gets shot, he drops, period. It's a detective story that's quite dark.

Since futuristic is okay with you, also go for the Appleseed manga (by the same author as Ghost in the Shell).
