Yea, it's still under the body modification catergory.., it's technically called gauging because every few days, they increases the size of the stud (  is it called that..)

Currently, since I'm an oba-san and all, I only have my ears pierced with simple diamond studs. But, I've had my tongue pierced twice, my nipple (but don't ever get just one if you're a girl 'cause they look lopsided, lol), a strange barbell through my ear in parts I don't know the name to, and uncountable piercings in my ears which I did myself. I used to do piercings when I worked in the mall back in HS and just like tattoos, piercings are addictive (and very easy to reverse).

But the piercings(holes) still stay, right..? So, there'll still be a mark on your body.. Kind of like a scar..
P.S.: I just looked up 'body modification' on google.. o.O There are some disturbing pics there.. Also one with her tongue split in two.. Though that could make for a great kisser..

I depends on where the piercing is. Your tongue, for example, will close up in a matter of hours. But you usually will have a scar, which is why I never had any facial piercings. My Mom begged me not to get any. And if you do gauging, (stretching), it probably won't ever close. I do wish i had done my other nipple, too. It makes breastfeeding much easier! ;)

Adds a whole new dimension to breast piercings..
With other words, facial piercings should be avoided.. Especially when you want to have a job...

My right ear is pierced 7 times, and my left ear is pierced 9 times, for a total of 16~
For me, ear piercing is less painful than getting a paper cut, and heals up about as quickly. If you have sensitive ears or something it might hurt more, though, and if your skin is sensitive it might take longer to heal.

When I went in to get my tattoo.. their was a guy there that just got his nipples done.. and he and the tattoo artists, ect were trying to convince me to get mine done .. but some people have said they've lost feeling in them.. while others say it's heightened the feeling.. but I'd cry if I lost feeling in them, so I'll probably never get 'em done..

It would numb the feeling, if they pierce through the nerve.. But it would heighten the feeling, if they pierce it next to the nerve.. It's kind of a risk, at the end..
