For me, like most people I know, Dragon Ball Z was the first I anime I watched when I was a kid, but that was back when CNX was still broadcasting before the transfer to Toonami

In terms of manga It was Yu-Gi-Oh, although I prefer the anime now

I first started out with Naruto as an anime.

I kept telling myself not to read the manga, because I didn't want to spoil the story.

But then came the fillers, oh joy for the fillers. And yeah, I picked up on the Naruto Manga.

I actually ditched Anime completely for manga. Since most anime's are adapted from manga, It means that I've most likely read whatever I'm about to watch.

Oh and the way that most animes spins off, makes me sick, for some reason I cant stand watching an anime story when the original manga is different.

If Doraemon is shounen, then that would be my first shounen manga. In fact, it's my first ever manga.

But my first proper shounen is Tetsuwan Atom. That's a classic.

My first shounen manga was Naruto -gaspgasp- But, y'know. Back when it was good.

But I guess my first shounen anime was Dragonball. Before I even knew people in Japan watched different cartoons. XD

A bit shameful, but the first Anime I ever saw was Dragonballz (typo, but I''m keeping it), but the first one I ever actually *watched* was Naruto (though if Pokemon counts, then it was that).

Manga was Naruto as well.

Not surprising that I'm still somewhat a closeted manga fan...

Anime: DBZ (I think)

Manga: A.I. Love You (Borrowed it from a friend when I was 14, and this was actually the very first manga I read, IIRC.)

First one that I saw any episodes for: Dragonball Z
First one that I actually followed: The original Pokemon.

First ones I actually knew for anime and followed them as such: G Gundam, Yu Yu Hakusho, and Rurouni Kenshin (concurrently on Cartoon Network.)

My first anime was Leo the White Lion. A prequel to Kimba I believe.

For manga, it would be Dragon Knights.
